Mr Bill In Long Beach

So, I had a hour and half presentation and our own Mr. Bill Marx had only 1 hour. But he stole the show!

Last minute changes removed Bills presentation as part of the approved continuing education classes held at the CBAA conference. However, it was submitted to the CA DOI and was approved for CA CE along with my course.

As usual he charmed all the ladies, including the staff of the Queen Mary and the TSA screeners at the airport.

I know he will be on here tomorrow, he needed to rest up from the cross country jet setting.

Bill will describe his "shark tank experience" much better than I.

Story #1: How to get arrested at the airport...

Let me give you folks some good advice....



NEVER PUT YOUR LAPTOP OR ANY OTHER ELECTRONIC DEVICE IN YOU "CHECKED" LUGGAGE!!!!!

On the trip out... I carried my laptop with me... on the way back, I put it in a zippered pocket on my bag that I checked.... WRONG MOVE!!

I of course had my camera and cell phone in the pocket of my.... shorts.... yep, dressed like a tourist, as usual...

Upon arrival in Raleigh/Durham Airport... departed... got a coffee at Starbucks... I never know which to get cause they have 3000 flavors and they all taste like.............. uh............ horse.............. uh........... anyway...

Went to the baggage area and got my bag and guess what....

THE ZIPPERED POCKET WAS OPEN AND MY LAPTOP WAS GONE... THAT'S SPELLED "NADDA/DISAPPEARED/MISSING/NOWHERETOBEFOUND"

I freaked out............ I was gonna kill somebody, but everyone had guns so I had to regroup and think.... anyway... the TSA guys surrounded me cause I think they thought I was gonna have a melt down... I was escorted to a little room to discuss the laptop...

After a minute or two, a lady came in, who apparently knew more than the rest... she said... "open your suitcase and check for the laptop"...

I did.. and there it was... they had taken it out of the zippered side pouch... made sure it did not contain any explosives???? how they did that I haven't a clue... and put it inside with a nice little note explaining why they do not want electronics left in checked baggage.

So................ again............... DO NOT PUT ELECTRONICS IN YOUR CHECKED BAGGAGE....

Story #2.... How to get arrested at the airport...

Checked in.... walked to the TSA screening area.... took off my shoes, belt and emptied my pockets... or so I thought...........

Stepped into the XRay machine.... the TSA guy says, step out and empty your pockets... I said... "my pockets are empty"... he said........ "No, you have something in your right pocket"...

I said.... as I put my hand into my right pocket... "No, I do not.... uh... wait a minute..."

At that point, I pulled out two small pills.... two 800mg Ibuprofen... which I always keep in case my back or my knees start acting up............... BIG MISTAKE ON A PLANE...

Any medication you have needs to be in its original bottle or container... uncontained pills are viewed as illegal prescription drugs or worse... so............ I figured... I am going to jail....

.. I have bonded many, many out on this exact charge... I should know better....

I told the guy what they were... he hesitated, looked at me... looked at the two scars on my knees, shook his head and said.... "ok Mr. Marx.... just go on... and put them in a bottle that is marked..."

I thanked him, put on my shoes and belt and other stuff and went to the bathroom to change my underwear....

And that is all I have to say about that................................

Nobody wants to hear about my little talk Tony....

I will post this and some others on the CBAA post I just did but... I am gonna have to rest up before I go into any details.....................



I was flabbergasted when told how bonds are written in CA.... I will have to give careful consideration of how to describe it... frankly, I don't think I was able to provide any instructions to the rank and file of this state... about the only thing I believe I did was provide a little side show...

My description and thoughts on my position in this.... "I am a Guppy in a sea of Sharks"
