Out of curiosity, can you clarify what you mean by instant lawsuit? I assume you're referring to the capacity to club the crap out of someone with a heavy maglight, but I'm just wondering.

Ruffin's comment was because many jurisdictions consider a mag light a weapon if it can hold more than 2 batteries. It is absolutely a large Kubaton, Weapon, striking device etc. I have even seen ones that were both flashlights and mace dispensors, and others that were flash lights and heat detectors. I had one of the latter disappear, of course nobody knows where it went..., after it located a subject under a couch for us!

I personally like my little Streamlight Strion. It's a little on the spendy side, but it's small and has a heck of a beam on it.
