Ok for the longest time I have been trying to figure out how companies were getting my specific e-mail address.

Well last week I noticed on the banner advertising all of the books and products these small words in white print: "Privacy Information".

So being naturally curious I clicked on it. Come to find out that when the owner affiliated FRN with Amazon.com to generate revenues for this site to help pay for it, Amazon.com is harvesting all of our information.

They then "share" (to use thier terminology) our information with "thier" partner's and other affiliates for marketing purposes.

Fortunately for us, they do have an "opt out" option. I exercised that option, and I can't tell you how dramatically it has reduced the number of marketing spam e-mails I was recieving on a daily basis.

Just thought I would pass this along to you folks.

David,

How ? I'd like to know so I can stop as much of this crap as I can. Every junk mail that comes in I go to thier "unsubscribe" link. It helps alot, but my pont is that I shouldn't be getting mail from companies I don't know or solicit or have given permission to e-mail me..it's like my phone number...if you have it great..if you don't, then obviously I don't want you calling me.....some people think they have the RIGHT to invade our privacy electronically.
