11/2/2007 will be the last day that I am employed by Surety Administrators Inc. This is an amicable split and I wish the remaining members of the SAI team and contracted agents nothing but the best in their endeavour to reduce liability for the company. It is with great pleasure that I announce that Tim Fitzpatrick will be taking over all recovery related duties after I leave and I know he will follow the same standards that I have strived to implement and maintain in my 6 years working on recovery issues. Tim is located in North Carolina however, my office number and extension will still be active and all calls made to these numbers will be directly diverted to Tim in NC. If for any reason this is not the case Tim can be reached at (919) 761-7448-office.

I would also like to take this time to thank each and every Recovery Agent I have worked with over the past few years for all of their support, follow through and dedication to the job at hand. Each and everyone of you have been the direct cause for my success and there simply is not enough words for me to show my true gratitude for all I have learned in the pursuit of my duties. Thank you.

To all who have provided advise, direction, sounding board and true professionalism here at FRN - YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!! There is not a better bunch of people anywhere else in this industry. If not for the contacts, friends I have made through this website I may not have made it as long as I did. For this I will be eternally grateful and wish to extend my help in anyway I can if the need arises. For those who have my cell #, please know that # is my personal cell and will not change. Thank you all for everything you have done.

Don,

It has been an honour and a privilege to have gotten to know you and work for you during this past year. Just because you may be leaving your position, doesnt mean you have to leave this forum. You still have a tremendous amount of skill and knowledge you can share with others.

As I mentioned before, you should write a book on INS bonds. It would teach alot of people about that process.

Anyway, best of luck to you in your future endeavers. if I may ever be of service to you, just call.

Take care and God Bless,

Ruffin.

It was a pleasure working with you Don, you did a great job and were always forthcoming with help and advice, I appreciated all the help you gave me when I was doing recoveries for SAI, back in December 05 I did a recovery for SAI that paid $5000 and Don made sure I got paid a lot faster than the norm, it was a big help around Christmas time that year, that's just the kind of guy Don is.

I wish you the best in your future endeavors.

Don,

Wow i dont really know what to say....i mean you were one of my first and original contacts. Ive known your name since the time i started in this and even then you gave me advice that to this day i dont start anything without thinking about the things youve said to me. If there were only people like you in every field things would be so much more understood and smooth. The thing is Im the one that needs to be thanking you that much....you have endless knowledge and it was such a true show of gentleman to share just even the fraction that you did with me via phone, email, forums, etc. Your a great person with an amazing character and core. I dont know how but i really hope that you and i can somehow keep in touch.....i wrote another letter in the "private" area with your name on it before i even saw this and its now really hard to absorb all this now after having such a great person/mentor to turn to. Thank you again for all your help my friend.

God speed and the best of wishes,
Rick

Don, just because you leave a company does NOT mean that you can't keep in contact. I had your cell number at one time, but am not sure that I still have it. Please PM it to me, as I want to be able to contact you.

Furthermore, what are your plans? Will you be available if we need you? Are you changing professions, or only companies? You can't just leave us hanging like this!!

Kathy and others,

Don has undergone some extreme events in his life this past year: The loss of his father, buying his 1st house and all that entails, trying to clean up and straighten out the mess he inherited, etc.

So he is taking his 1st real vacation in 6 years and spending some much needed time off with his family. Possibly til after the 1st of the year. Don enjoys, among other things, working with his hands. So he has some minor repairs and remodeling he wants to do on his new house.

He will also be using this time to explore his options. He has some offers already on the table, but this time he wants to choose his next path carefully.

So he himself isn't even sure exactly what his next step is going to be. But he will stay in touch and let us know, once he chooses his next path.

Sorry for not being able to check the forum last night however, I had some computer issues at home last night and could not access la internet...LOL.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. I stand by what I've already said - you guys/ladies are the best.

Ruffin and I have spoken at length over the past year about my end date approaching and my possible plans so he knows more than most. Write a book…now that’s an idea to give some consideration to. But like he said it's been almost 6 years since I've taken a vacation and I am more than ready to have some time off for myself and the many projects/hobbies I've had to push off because of work. Like so many people I’ve forgotten we need to work to live not live to work. It sure has been a trying year, but one that has taught me more than I've learned in the past 5-10 and I am truly thankful for all my blessings. The passing of my grandfather, getting married, moving into my first home etc but like my wife and I say...we are living the dream.

As for my future plans. I am taking about a month off to take in some sun, fun and scuba down in the FL Keys, working on my house and spending time with my daughter and wife. Prior to coming into the field I had been working on my Master Divers Certificate and had to put that on hold so I am looking forward to getting back to diving on a regular basis. For right now my job prospects do not include staying in the industry simply because I have not found the right offer/fit and until that happens I will keep looking. Other offers include working construction, returning to handicap accessibility field (modifying homes and cars for people with disabilities) or working in management at one of the many local manufacturing companies. Offers are there but I am just not sure what the best fit will be. I fell into this job by luck and nepotism...lol...not sure I want to go the same route again even though this all turned out better than I thought it would.

I will not be leaving the forum but I will be “off the grid” for a short time while I get my ducks in a row. After that I will return every once in awhile to check in and up on things and to stay in touch with the many of you I truly respect and admire. Like I’ve stated previously I am and will be available via cell to anyone who has a need or desire to contact me for any reason.
