I was wondering if anyone used or knew of any free windows xp based program to manage contact info or case info. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what to use? That would also be helpful. I'm tryin to figure out a way to build a database on my computer.

Thank you in advance,
Rick

Ricardo,
You can write your own using Microsoft Access. Very simple and it is fairly cheap. You can query from any field and choose criteria for reports etc.

I have used one for years. I have just migrated my data to a company called Captira. Total web based program and meets my current needs and has added benefits as well :)

Ricardo, you need to rethink going to the class in TN, there may never be another one, and it will have the best known presenters, nationwide. Cost cant be an issue, since Mr. Stiles is only chargng a fraction of what it would cost you to take a class from each of these presenters individually.

The networking opportunity alone would cover your cost with one shared case!

Scott

True, very true indeed. Id love to meet you all infact. I believe the knowledge id receive is invaluable. Thing is my car was recently totalled. Ergo the money issues im having. No car= no bodies, no case pick-ups, no contact searching, etc. Ive already begun to build a contact list using email, phone, internet, and fax. BUT without a car im crippled at the momment....my funds are dwindling and im new in the buisness...so not many know me enough to just partner up with me and take me out on cases. Ive already met a ggod deal of people in this field in my area... they all like how i carry myself, BUT when they come to the point that i tell them that i dont have a current car then it all goes down hill. Its all "oh man id love to ride with you" to "oh yea, well see the thing is, ive been very busy lately and im not able to take the time to pick someone up" when i know some only live blocks away. But hey, its how people are these days. Anyways, even with all this plus more I still refuse to just go to one knee and surrender to failure in this field. Im gonna keep at it. I know i have alot to learn but im young, only 22 yrs old in fact, i have plenty of time to take in knowledge.

Once again thank you all for your inputs, advice, knowledge, and help.

Sincerly,
Rick

P.S.- Can some1 private message me the price for the class and the exact location please. Ill see if i can find a way to get there and to get brought back home. I deff cant afford both a hotel room and class, but ill see if i can make the class.

All of the information for the class/seminar is posted in other threads "TAPBA seminar"..updates, etc. For reservations you need to call Joe Stiles.

Additionally Ric, you missed Scott's invitation. 1 thing you need to do is to learn to "read" between the lines. Surely you can make your way to Md, ride the bus, hook up with Scott and ride with him to the class.

The class is $125; hotel at that location is $70/night; you can always stay at a less expensive place or share the cost of a room with someone else, which would then put your cost at $40/night. Food would be at your own budget.

So for 2 nights and seminar fees you are looking at about $250; Traveling on your own to and from will probably be another $100 minimum.
So I would budget a minimum of $350-$400 for the whole weekend.

Not to mention the personal, 1 on 1 discussions/training you will recieve from riding with Scott M. That alone would be far more than any dollar figure you could name.

You still have 8 days until the event. You could do day labor, wait tables, cut firewood, borrow, whatever to raise the money. I know cut, split firewood used to command $75-$100/cord. I don't know what it is now.

To quote from Scott M. "If you don't invest in yourself, no one else will either. Why should they ?"
