Colorado requires that you take a P.O.S.T. certified course and be felony free for 15 years.
I don't think HI has much regulation, but are working on passing one which will not allow you to work there if you have a felony. You also cannot possess a firearm there for any reason.
LE and BE are dangerous. The difference is that we know every person we go after is wanted.
