No trial - lic. was revoked and can never bond again - that was finalized sometime in 2001 and he still does the same thing (sponsers bondees) thru another company - eventually it will catch up with him...crap like that always does - it is all just a matter of time.

You want a list of the agents I personally know who haven't gotten caught yet? Okay, it's only a few who are still in business, several who aren't, but they are out there.

I see it as a power issue. It isn't only bond agents, but anyone in a "power" position. Consider LE and other court officials, politicians, corporate executives, male spouses, etc. It seems that people in "perceived authority" tend to use sex and violence as a leveraging tool, just as they use money and drugs. It is the same with spousal and child abusers. These are all a form of debasing others to make themselves seem "greater" in their own opinion. They have nothing to offer, so use their positions to force others to bow down to them in whatever way they feel will further their self-esteem. It is a control issue and most never understand or realize this. It is really sickening to consider the lengths that some people will go to, others will bow to, and that society will accept.

I was married for 23 years to a control freak. It was the way he was raised, and the way he thought things should be. He was more mentally abusive than physically abusive, and to be perfectly honest, that can be much more devasting to a person with a low self-esteem. Those who concede or adapt to either of these do not consider themselves worth the effort to redeem themselves. It is either the way they were raised, or the worth they place on themselves for whatever reason.

For many years, I let my ex-husband bully, plead, and generally coerce me into doing what he wanted, mainly staying with him. Despite my career ambitions, he hated that I might get my degree and a license that may make me more money than him, or in his mind, raise my career higher than he would achieve. I finally understood what he was doing, and although I ended up sticking around several years after, he couldn't touch me mentally, and he knew better than to abuse me physically. I did what I needed to do for myself, and didn't let him stop me.

Most women (or men) do not understand our equality, and willingly submit to their "fate." I had my accounting degree before I met my "soul mate", James), and his understanding of what I had been through and that he was willing to accept my indepencency. We had totally opposite careers when we met and yet we accepted each other. It took us several years to totally come together, but we now understand and are totally one with each other. We bring separate experiences together, and that is our uniqueness. We do whatever we have to to get the job done.

Guys and Gals - the bonds person that was taking it out in trade and product here, has now offically been terminated from the company that she was writing for. Seems they have decided that they didn't like the way she was conducting business. . . they just wanted to give her enough rope to hang herself - so to speak.

No folks, it really had to with the tactics - she was taking it out in trade and product - so therefore there is NO MONEY to show. She may also be looking at some criminal charges and he wanted her out of the company before that hit the press...that would be good tactics.

So who was doing the trading? The defendant or the indemnitor? Did any defendants refuse to be released once they knew whom they had to service????

Just wondering?

Police: Bondsman trading bond for sex
By Mark Caudill
News Journal
MANSFIELD -- A bail bondsman is accused of pressuring area women for sex in exchange for getting them out of jail.
Kent Miller, 47, of Sidney, has been issued three summonses for coercion and one for sexual imposition. He works at AA Rapid Release Bail Bonds in Sidney, south of Lima.

"It's a perfect opportunity. He holds a lot of weight," Mansfield police Detective Eric Bosko said. "These girls are so vulnerable."

Bosko, who has been working on the case since summer, said Miller will be issued at least one other summons for coercion. The current charges all are misdemeanors. Further charges, including felonies, are possible.

"All these victims said this was common knowledge ... for the last year," Bosko said. "We know there's more victims out there."

In the first known case, Miller reportedly posted bond for a woman, then asked her to come to his cabin on the lake for sex.

"He revoked her bond because she refused to," Bosko said, even though the woman was complying with the terms of her supervision.

"He (Miller) has that authority," Bosko said.

The second reported case involved the first woman's sister.

"He made sexual advances after he picked her up," Bosko said, prompting the additional charge of sexual imposition.

After the third coercion charge, Bosko said he heard from an employee at the Crawford County Jail.

"The suspect said (to jail officials) he was there to talk to a woman about her bond," Bosko said. "He was (actually) trying to influence her to testify on his behalf and deny the allegations against him.

"My concern is he's now actively seeking out these victims. We know it's larger than what we have at hand."

Bosko said he suspects some women are afraid to come forward. Others might owe Miller money.

Bosko said Miller still is working. A person who answered the phone at AA Rapid Release Bail Bonds would not comment.

Bosko said Miller had a possible plea agreement on the first three cases, but that is no longer the case because of the new allegation.

Defense attorney Rolf Whitney, who is representing Miller, also declined comment.
