Well. tomorrow a state committee will MOST likely pass this new legislation. If it get pass there it may go to the full Assembly and then to the Senate. If it passes all, the Gov Moonbeam will probably sign it in to law.

Then most gun owners will have to buy their ammo in Nevada, Arizona or Oregon as there will no longer be any gun stores in CA.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, April 19, the Assembly Committee on Privacy and Consumer Protection is scheduled to hear Assembly Bill 2459. This detrimental bill, authored by NRA-PVF “F” rated Assembly Member Kevin McCarty, would close practically every gun store in the Golden State if enacted into law. Gun control advocates have made their agenda very clear – removal of firearm availability piece by piece, until it is completely gone in California. Committee contact information can be found here or through the TAKE ACTION button below.

AB 2459 would make four serious changes to California’s dealer licensing requirements.

A prohibition on licensee business premises being on a residential property.

A clear statement that localities may impose more restrictive requirements on licensees than those imposed by state law.

A requirement that licensees maintain full color video surveillance that is of sufficient quality to provide for facial recognition and records all firearm transactions on the premises, all locations where firearms and ammunition are stored, the immediate exterior of the licensed premises, and all parking facilities owned by the licensee. The video equipment would be required to run during all business hours and be set to begin recording when motion is detected at all other times. The licensee would have to certify to having compliant video equipment at least yearly and make any needed repairs to the equipment within 15 days of any damage. The footage would need to be stored on the premises for at least five years, but that could be extended if the footage may be part of a law enforcement investigation. Licensees would also be required to post a prominent sign indicating that customers are being recorded.

All licensees would be required to have a liability policy of a minimum of $1M per incident to cover liability arising from "theft, sale, lease or transfer or offering for sale, lease or transfer of a firearm or ammunition, or any other operations of the business and business premises."

As if the state wasn't bad enough leading the way in trying to end bail....

Just 2 questions, why haven't the firearm manufacturers told the state if they pass these types of laws that they will no longer sell firearms and ammo to the state law enforcement agencies? If they can't sell to civilians, why sell to the State?

For all you CA guys, time to stock up on more ammo and those new guns you were thinking about getting. I am.

That is an excellent question and one that would certainly put this in proper perspective...

Do you think this has a chance of actually becoming the law in California???? Holy Sht... that is really quite scary... California needs to secede from the Union... it is becoming a communist state...

Well it did NOT pass out of the Privacy Committee but still goes to the Public Safety Committee.

However EIGHT other anti gun Bills did pass out of their committees. Two major ones will make thousands of CA gun owners instant criminals if signed into law, including me!

1) Banning all magazines over 10 rounds capacity except for Law Enforcement. It use to be that you could still own "large capacity" mags if you bought them before the limit was put in place 10 years ago.

2) Banning all semi auto rifles ( What they call Assault rifles ) that have the bullet button magazine release . All rifles must have a FIXED magazine that can not be released without completely disassembling the weapon. So, all ARs will be illegal to possess.

These two and others passed that when they pass the full House and Senate will become law.

So, should CA succeed from the Union? I think The Union should kick CA out! But we will still be stuck with the same idiot legislators that the majority of stupid voters continue to put in office.

Here's a list of the bills approved by the committee:

• SB-1407 Firearms: identifying information. Introduced by Sen. Kevin de Leon, this bill would require people who make homemade guns to get a background check and apply for a serial number.

As if criminals who are making their own weapons are going to register them.

• SB-880 Firearms: assault weapons. Introduced by senators Isadore Hall and Steve Glazer, this bill would expand the definition of "assault weapon" to include semi-automatic, centerfire rifles with easily detachable magazines.

Which would ban every AR style rifle.

• SB-894 Firearms: lost or stolen: reports. Introduced by Sen. Hannah-Beth Jackson, this bill would require gun owners to report the theft or loss of a firearm to a local law enforcement agency within five days.

• SB-1235 Ammunition. Introduced by Sen. Kevin de Leon, this bill attempts to get around a court order barring enforcement of a 2009 law requiring stores to keep records on purchases of handgun ammunition by updating the definition of "ammunition."

Everyone would have to produce ID to buy ammo. The store would have to keep written records of who bought what.

• SB-1446 Firearms: magazine capacity. Introduced by Sen. Loni Hancock, this bill would make it an infraction for a person to possess a large-capacity magazine, defined under existing law as an ammunition-feeding device that holds more than 10 rounds.

We used to be grandfather in if you already owned a "high capacity" mag, now they would all be illegal except for LEs

• SB-1006 Firearm Violence Research Center. Introduced by Sen. Lois Wolk, this bill would request that the University of California establish a center for the research of firearm-related violence.

They are trying to make "gun violence" a health issue so that they can get your doctor to spy on gun owners, along with schools and other entities that you come in contact with

• SB-1037 Firearms. Introduced by Sen. Ben Allen, this bill would postpone the start of the statute of limitations for certain crimes involving the transfer of firearms.

If you in the eyes of the State illegally transfer a firearm to some one and some how that weapon was used in a crime, there would be no statute of limitations on how far back they can go to charge you with be a party that crime. So if you sold your brother in law a gun 20 years ago and he just rob a bank yesterday, you can be charged also.

You know now that I think about it, if all these Bills pass, I am sure I will feel a lot safer in California. :P
