With all the bad publicity surrounding the bail business I thought I'd attempt to add a few facts.

1) Did you hear about the hundreds of recoveries made last night without a single incident?
2) Did you hear about the guy that the Marshall service couldn't find, so they sought the help of a recovery agent to find a guy that has been charged with murder while out on bond. The guy is now behind bars.
3 Did you hear about the bondsman that got a call that a client might be considering suicide. The bondsman rushed to the clients house to try and help him. Too late, the guy hanged himself.
4) Did you hear about all the soup kitchens and toys that were set up by Bondsman during the holidays for the less fortunate? The children and adults really appreciated that.
5) Did you hear about the bondsman that provided housing at no cost to a family that lost everything in a fire?
6) Did you hear about the young girl that was beaten by her boyfriend to the point her eyes were swelling shut and her face was starting to bruise? Several people witnessed the beating, but a Bondsman intervened stopping the attack?
7) Did you hear about all the Bondsman that have written bonds and the clients made every court appearance?
8) Did you hear about all the recoveries made last year by bail agents. Made in a quiet, covert, uneventful manner and without incident? There's really no end to the positive things that could be listed)

Well, you might not have read about it in the newspapers, but these things actually happen is this business. I hope one day we can focus on the good, Lord knows there are a lot of people that would love to shut the Bail Industry down.

Let's not help them in this endeavor.

I agree 100% there are positive bail / recovery stories out there. If they are in your local papers or on tv, they should be posted here so that we can help distribute them across the country.

The negative stories will always be picked up by national media, whether or not if someone links them on FRN.

That's the point! There are very few articles showing the positive side of this business. But you can sure as hell find a ton of negative stuff. A lot of people come here that are not even in this business and read this negativity which only hurts our image. We have enough people doing that now. And we want to pile on??

I agree with Bills point.

The FRN site is based on the bail bond industry.
Members continue to post articles about negative things that happen.
Why don't we let the actual media handle that and not help give this industry continued black eyes.
Instead of seeking, finding, and posting negative incidents why cant that research and drive be put to finding the good incidents and posts that instead.
Very seldom do we see police officers turning on one another......
Very seldom do we see criminals turning in other criminals......
Why does this industry point out the bad within its own industry?
I don't understand why the negative continues to be pointed out here?
Does it make you feel good to point out the bad within your own industry?

For the record I have posted positive stories that I have found about either bail or recovery agents. You can easily find them. But they are few and far between.

The "negative" ones are more prevalent in the media as is any negative story about any area of life.

Now I and maybe some others would agree that some of these can be learning experiences. What not to do as new or long time agents.

But in no way do I or do I think others post these as a way to make oneself feel superior or good. The bad apples are out there and we as a group need to recognize it and do what we can to change it.

Your right.
It seems that most times this industry makes the news it's in a negative way or it portrays it in an inaccurate way.
What I'm saying is leave it the them to advertise and publish.
Why are we helping promote the negative incidents of our own industry?
This forum promotes our industry so why not try and keep it all positive?

As far as it being used to learn from......
Most of the negative things that happen are already known to be wrong yet it's still done. No one, in my opinion needs to read it or see it to know what not to do. Most the times the person doing it already knows not to do it and that it's wrong.
So what are we learning from these incidents?
If you need to read and/or hear about these incidents to know they're wrong your probably the one doing it.
I'm not saying don't read or follow the news if that is what you wish to do.
What I'm saying is why are some promoting, advertising, or sharing things that place the industry your in a negative light , especially here where it's for this same industry.
Now if that don't make sense to anybody then I guess I'm just wasting by time.
