Is low profile, wearing a suit and tie or going casual, the wisest method of operation, as opposed to Black Ops military dress code (which I regard as high profile), or are both options depending on the environment?

I have found that the elements of my situation dictates the best approach. There is no single, sure-fire cure for every challenge that we face; such is life. Use your best judgment and instincts; they will both serve you well.

Jason and I are of like mind on this one. The geographic area, the specific location, the type of people (yes that means some profiling), even the time of day/night can dictate what you wear and how you gear up. Also, the specific approach your taking. You wouldn't attempt to go under a pretext while wearing a "uniform" with "BAIL ENFORCEMENT" written all over it, for example. This sounds obvious but you would be surprised at what some folks will try. Or, maybe you wouldn't be.

That said, I almost always operate in jeans, t-shirt/polo and sneakers.

"Low Impact" recovery has suited me well for several weeks. The least amount of attention you draw to yourself, the better it will be.

I concur with Scott and Yak, Low Impact is best. You are not law enforcement, BEA's need to understand their role. You are a civilian enforcing a civil contract therefore you actions or errors are subject to review in criminal and civil courts. Be safe out there...
