Post subject: a question about international warrants
 Post Posted: Tue 14 Feb 2006 00:08

say you have a warrant out for your arrest in one country, if its big enough does it get entered into interpol?, and what if you do have a warrant and want to go vacation or have business in some other country?, do you automatically get flagged or taken into custody at the airport of deaprture or arrival?

i'd love to know how all this works.

I havent poted on here in forever, helllo hadley, hound dog, etc.

business is good here in Arkansas.

Rick.

Rick tricky situation--if the country of origin(country that issued warrent) is a member of interpole(many countries are not)they can foward the warrent to interpol--there are other ways to have the skip picked up--if the country of origin has a extadition treaty with the usa they can foward a arrest request thru the state dept and either the fbi or federal marshall will arrest the ship and detain him for an extradition hearing--years ago i worked a case with interpol out of france-skip was a french national who killed her husband and skipped to nyc--we found her and arrested her it took more than a year to go thru all the hearing before she was sent back to france--major pain in the butt--interpol has way more authority in europe than here-they tend to work thru our law enforcement agencies--here is a senario where they could be help full--if du-du was fishing in international waters they could arrest and bring him to mexico if mexico was a member(they are not a member of interpol-i do not think many central or south american countries are)--second part of question--wether or not international fugitive gets flagged on airline depends on country of warrent origin and nature of crime--there are treaties covering many of these situations very complicated--i went after a man accused of attempted murder of a vermont state trooper i found him in russia could not get him out went to every body i could think of from the state dept down with the blessing and assistance of the state of vermont-i was told it was just to complicated--along the way i met a russian police official who offered to arrest him and get him to jfk airport on a russian flight for 25000.00 dollars(bonds was 25000.00)--it is funny how loudly money talks and cuts red tape--so the straight answer it varies with the country and the treaty--good to hear from you Rick

Far be it for me to step on toes, but Mexico is in fact part of interpol.. These are the M countries that are:

M Madagascar | Malawi | Malaysia | Maldives | Mali | Malta | Marshall Islands | Mauritania | Mauritius | Mexico | Moldova | Monaco | Mongolia | Morocco | Mozambique | Myanmar

Joshua I stand corrected-the problem is mexico might be a member of interpol but the goverment there is so corrupt that it is ineffactive-ie inmexican law you can legally buy your way out of jail--all crimes except capitol crimes have a dollar value attached

The reasons you listed are the exact reasons that I am so very glad that Dog Chapman DID go to Mexico to get Andrew Luster. If he had been jailed there, he would have bought his way out and continued his evil ways. I wouldn't have wanted my daughter to be his next victim, or even my mother who spends alot of time in Mexico.

joshua-again i will go over the correct info not a press release from the clown act---du-du got info from american tourists that had spotted luster-they sold that info to du-du and also the fb1 at the same time(this comes from a source in the fbi and the tourists statement)the fbi at the time du-du kidnapped luster was working with the mex fed police to arrest and extadite luster--mex law does not allow for the extadition of capitol criminals--life sentences or death sentences--with luster having a sentence over 100 that is a life sentence-when luster was grabbed by du-du the mex authorities almost let luster go free but the fbi did the 2 step with diplomatic help and got luster out quickly--the fbi would have had luster the next day without any danger of his getting away--if du-du wanted to help he would have survailed luster and contacted the fbi to make the pop legally with mex officials present--he would have been a hero instead of a zero--again this job is not about vigilante injustice but about legal procedures resulting in the capture of bail jumpers with in the law--du-du had no authority to make the arrest he had no contract with the bondsmen-there was no bondsmen-so even if he had arrested luster in the usa he could have been charged and would not have been able to collect any bond money--his tactics then were flawed just as his tactics are flawed today--again all of this info is documented and i challege him to a show and tell-- i to have been on tv and major media outlets both local and national -the difference is we do it the legal way not the vigilante way--my problem with him is not his back round but the lack of knowledge and lack of tactics and the wrong ideas show to a rather unsophisticated viewing public causing major damage to this industry--here we go i am starting this whole magila again-----(magila- ny jewish or slang term for a big story)

I see your point, just don't agree with it. If it wasn't for Mr. Chapman doing what he did in the way that he did it, Luster would still be out raping. NO ONE always does things by the book , and if they say they do, they are lying.

Joshua we must be making a dent on each other--I also agree that the book gets bent alittle at times--but not broken as du-du does on many different occasions--as far as popping luster it would have happened later that day or the next day
