In a PI group I belong to, there was a rather in depth discussion specific to the correct color to be minimally recognized.

To the OP, what ever vehicle that is the most popular in your environment would be the least intrusive. Where I live, there are as many thugs as Police driving Crown Vics. I put almost 400,000 miles on one, and it served me well. I have also worn out a Ford Windstar Mini Van, a GMC Yukon XL, and a Ford Escort wagon, (35 mpg and I loved it!) I currently have a Saturn Outlook and a restored Chevy Blazer K-5. All have served their purpose well.

Ford Focus. Chevy Blazer. Ford Ranger.
The Focus is very popular so it never looked out of the ordinary wherever I took it to. The Blazer was dark colored and had tinted windows, really no other advantage. The Ranger had jumpseats in the back, not exactly ideal for transporting a defendant, but, it does make it a bit harder for a non-compliant person to kick when they are sitting sideways with nothing to kick.



Same thing here. There are used car lots here that sell CVPI's only.

The vehicle my team uses the most is a Dodge Caliber. There are tons of them on the road and they hold the team AND the skip...you know...in case you should run across them in your travels.

OK I bought a 2002 Hyundai Santa fe with 100k miles I actually like it, good amount of room for my team (two Doberman pinschers) and got it for less than $5k cash something like 18-21mpg. Silver because I get lazy between car washes hahaha. Just thought id share what I went with, as if you guys cared lol..

I almost bought a 2002 Land Rover... oh my god that thing was beautiful, all leather 2 sunroofs flip up screen on the dash for navigation 72k miles looked almost brand new but I don't need a 4x4 or want to pay the extra insurance for stuff I'm not gunna use so I got sold on the "economic choice" hahaha
But for you guys looking for a beautiful 4x4 that feels like sitting in the cockpit of a personal jet.... Land Rover!
