ahhh filthadelphia.....city full of crime, grime, and slime. Not to mention its also the city of brotherly love....literally.

I haven't been there since about 1989 or so. They still had the "Rocky" statue at the top of the steps, just as you see it in the movie. It has since been removed.

The only good thing I'm looking forward to getting there is a true philly cheesesteak and some true strombolis....ahhh mouth is watering already.

No Scott, you will not be in charge of eateries this time...... :P
Don't wanna be accused of being an all gay male troupe again...

Ruffin that is so wrong on multiple levels!

Luke has already agreed to take us to a less popular place that has better subs than Pat's or Geno's!

Scott

That would be Cheese Steaks, not subs, big difference.

Other outstanding places to get a cheese steak:

Tony Luke’s
Jim’s Steaks
Dalessandro’s Steaks
Steve’s Prince of Steaks

All top notch.

Tom,

There is a ton of stuff to do there for tourists. All kinds of historical sites, The Tall Ships, The Singing Wall, and Atlantic City isn't that far away either. Also Gettysburg is close by for Civil War Buffs.

Well folks,

I will be getting in on Saturday. It seems like there will be a lot of sites to see and places to to eat.

If anyone else is going to get in a day early let me know so I can increase the group room numbers for Saturday.

The schedule will be the same as St Louis, Sunday nite reception @ 6:00PM, Monnday and Tuesday meetings 9:00AM - to 5:00PM ish.

Tony,

If you like American History, *The National Park Service has guided tours for The Liberty Bell, George and Martha Washington's Church, The building where the first Congress was held...I think its called Constitution Hall, and a whole host of other sites of interest.

They also used to have 1700-1800's style sailing frigates and schooners down at the docks. Old Ironsides is sometimes there, not sure if it is anymore or not. Regardless, they have a very interesting maritme museum if you like that kind of stuff.

If anyone is interested, you can contact the local tourism board and get a packet containing brochures about things to do and see there.

*NPS sites are federal properties. No firearms allowed. NPS Officers are Federal LEO's with full arrest powers. Just fyi.

**For those who don't know, I used to live and work just outside of Philly back in the '80's. So a lot of stuff has obviously changed by now.

I hope to have time to take in a few sites, that is if Scott and Bill don't drag me off to some questionable bar again and try to get me drunk.
