True in most things in life... I have a sticker on the back of one of my bike helmets....

"You never forget your first Pig"

... and in keeping... my grandsons Harley has the plate.... "OIINK" (Yes, I thought that one up)

You will think of your first quite often... and the action of it will increase in importance and scope as time marches on.....

It's really a bad policy to do recovery by yourself under any circumstances. Sometimes it happens but you should always avoid that situation if at all possible. I don't think you wasted any time by not paying to get the cell phone billing address. I can tell you with about 90% certainty that it was prob a track phone and would have told you nothing. Personally I think track phones should be a whole lot more expensive or even outlawed completely because they tend to only be used by people who are trying to hide their identity. I'm all for protecting peoples privacy but when you are on a bail bond IMO you have surrendered your rights, which it clearly states in my contract, and even "I grant consent to be monitored" is in there as well. I don't know why we can't get exact GPS locations of cellphones if we fax the contract to the carrier. (not triangulation which JB investigations ruined for all of us anyway by selling it on the internet) Now triangulation pings will show a message on the phone so that is a one shot deal now, and it was not very accurate anyway.

Would this be a Virginia Detective Agency of which you speak?

Never take a female skip into custody on your own.
And don't feel like shit for doing your job, just because it's a young girl with some bad luck. I picked up a 19yr old skip, she was a cute girl and tried to play the clueless victim of circumstance, even tried to ask me if I could come back later  Well, when I brought her to the jail, jail staff ran her name of course..... and smiled and informed me that little miss clueless had 5 warrants out of multiple counties.
