I don't know Bill, it was another one of those days! Running all over for small stuff, no bails.

So, another sip from the "jar" and a little quiet time watching the "Peoples Court" and "Judge Judy" before I go back to the grind.

Anyway gang, Scott had some good news for me this morning and we will share it when it becomes final.

Ok,

Now that I have a few free moments, let see if we can get things rolling.

Many have volunteered to help with the organizing and running of the N.A.B.B.I. I am not one to assign "jobs" but rather let everyone pick and choose what area they would like to help out on.

So, below is a list of the various areas we need to tackle. Anyone interested in helping out on any of the committees, should just let me know. We should have no more than 3 person on each committee so that things don't get bogged down.

1) Bylaws, Code of Ethic and Mission Statement = I have sent out drafts of all three. A committee should go over all of them, fine tune them by adding or subtracting info. They will then be presented to the attendees in St. Louis for ratification.

Understand, they can be amended later if the need arises.

2) Membership = this committee will determine the membership categories, dues amounts, membership term, membership qualifications, etc. We must be careful and not make this personal. Everyone that qualifies, must be given the opportunity to join and participate in the NABBI.

3) Nomination Committee = Probably one of the most important jobs. This committee will decide the number of office positions needed, and the make up of the board of directors. For example, how do we determine which areas of the country get covered by a director. How many areas do we need to cover the whole USofA? Do we also include members from outside the U.S.? Etc....

4) Marketing / advertising = Getting the word out about the NABBI conference in St Louis. Make contact with other bail or investigative sites such as PIs, security guards, Repos, Collections, surety companies, bail agents, etc.

5) Sponsorship = For now Scott M. may have that covered for us. I only mentioned this so that we all know that in the future, we will need to develop contacts.

6) Education / training standards = this will be a very important part of the success of NABBI. We will need to develop the minimum standards for education and training that a bail recovery agent should have. That could be used then to work towards standardization the minimum training requirements throughout the USofA.

7) Legislation = this committee would start work on looking at various state and federal laws to keep the membership aware of potentially negative laws against bail and bail recovery.

For now, I can't think of any other areas we need a committee to work on. If I forgot one, please let me know.

We all need to remember a few very important points.

First, we must leave past hurt feelings or conflicts in the past.

Second, everyone here and on other sites are welcome to join and be part of an important association that will work for the betterment of the recovery PROFESSION. Lets make sure we think professionally, talk professionally and act professionally.

Third, everyone is equal here. We all will have an equal voice in the association.

Everyone here can start work by talking to any and everyone you know in the profession. Tell them about the conference in St Louis on March 18, 19 and 20, 2012. Home of the Baseball World Champs, Cardinals!

The registration fee will most likely be below $100. The rooms are $99 per night. St Louis is almost centrally located in the US and easy to get to by air.

We will have the NABBI website up in a couple of weeks, then everyone can begin to register for the conference. We need as many people as possible to attend, participate and become a charter member of the National Association of Bail Bond Investigators.

Ok gang,

So far I have only 2 members committed for committee work. Almost everyone said they would help out.

Please pick a area of your interest and let me know. We really need to get things rolling before the holidays.

Ok, put me down for Education/Training standards and/or Membership. Either of these is fine with me. If I have to choose one or the other, I guess Education/Training would be first with Membership second.

I believe I may already be one of those individuals but if not:

Put me in for #4) Marketing / advertising. Seems to be my strong suit.

Also, I am in the process of developing the website and registration. Should be ready this next week for review.

I've already thrown in, via PM with Tony, for Marketing and Membership. Phil, I'd love to work with you on the Marketing side! I've already begun a very basic Facebook post for St. Louis.
