I also agree, and have narrowed it to 3.
We can run a nomination for the position of some sorts, and the person would have to publicly accept the nomination. Then some sort of vote would need to take place and a record of all would need to be kept.
I can offer my assistance in some areas here, as I am quite familiar with Roberts Rules of Order, By-Laws and Parliamentary procedures.
And no, I am not running for President of NABBI, way over my pay grade.

Bill i thank you for even putting me in with the likes of the Scott's & Joe Stiles. My health is a hinder to do any thing like this. I would or could be a rep for this area and could do any and all back grounds or checks for the Association. I am also waiting on the Insurance Commissioner to make a decision on my application for a Pre-Licensing and Continuing Education Instructor for the State of Indiana. I feel my need is in that area to try and train the next generation of Bondsman & Recovery Agents more so the Recovery Agents. I would like to say that we have many very talented people here and every member would be a asset for the new association.

We also have another that I would throw into the mix and that would be Rex Venator of California. I do not know if anyone has approached him in regards to NABBI . . . but he should be if this is an all inclusive Tony I give that task to you as you are that side of the country and I have to get to my PT job Thank you David That is something that we all need to look at as well. Keeping the local areas apprised of any given situation.

Yes David, I thought about the physical effort involved in this and wondered if you would want the burden... also, regarding Rex... that would be fine but to expand a bit... I think Rex and Scott Harrell are a bit out of the mix because of their deep involvement in their own schools/training and marketing aspects of their business... but that would be up to them... I figure both are of course qualified as are several others on here. We just want to make sure we get the right man/woman for the job... I bet I know a woman in CA that would jump in the position.... oooooooooooo sorry........... couldn't hep mesef...

I thought of Rex but he is so busy with many irons in the fire once again time would be a big factor for him.

We also have Gene Lacy in DC . . . We have yet to hear from Scott M (on whether he would have the time) and Joe Stiles has not weighed in. Scott H has not weighed in as well . . . But then these are just fellas from the FRN and were not some folks wanting to "expand" the search and creativity. Bill. No.

I am honored and flattered that several of you have considered me for the board of NABBI. I, however, must respectfully decline any nomination to a Board position right now.
Several of you know, but many of you don't, that I am moving to Costa Rica in just a couple of months for some exciting opportunities that have presented themselves. During the transition I am going to be mostly out of pocket and would not feel that I could fully meet the requirements and responsibilities of any executive position during this start up phase.
That being said, I will still fully support the organization through active membership, by developing and maintaining the website, assist in marketing and public relations efforts, offer council where needed and, of course, help develop any training programs that might be appropriate. I am bringing some very talented people on-board CompassPoint Investigations (which will remain in Florida) right now, all of whom I will be able to have help out from time to time, too.
Many of you are tireless in your efforts and generous with your time; I will do the best I am able as well, but I wanted everyone to understand the position in which I find myself presently.

I believe that nominations for the officers or members of the board are premature at this juncture. I also believe that they should be elected, not appointed or drafted. Many qualified people will unable to serve because of various reasons or prior commitments. I think that if a person wants to serve on the board or hold an office, then they should declare, commit and campaign for that position. As I've said before, a national association is vastly different than an internet chat room. It will require a considerable amount of time and money. Any person seeking a position of leadership should be aware of that upfront. I have several ideas and I look forward to sharing them with everyone next week at the "crabsmashing."
