I agree with those that Mr McLean has listed. Although Michigan is not one of the states that accept and/or acknowledge PI Education's training, I have heard nothing but great things about them. Mr Harrell's (BeABountyHunter/CompassPoint) course are widely accepted and some of the best training I have ever recieved (aside from field/OJT training). This is where I got my start, as far as training goes. From there I networked and I now train with local SO, in most cases. Just don't depend on a "one size fits all" training. Training is a continuous process and should be attended often. Also, marketing and business managment are great courses to propel someone in this industry. I say that to say "Its not all about the exciting (As Seen On TV) stuff." There are many aspects to this industry and all require professionalism and training. Good luck to you.

I also must agree with both Mr. Maclean and Snowolf on that, there is constant training whether it be mentally or physically, I too got my start (certification) through his (L.Scott Harrel) online course

Ihave used compass point before. I all recieve D.V.D. from the N.R.A. The sub. you need the most are the ones that help if uver sued. Handcuff , o.c. ,weapons ect. If the training is not documented it was a wast of time.

I agree with Sno, Scott & Robert. Mr. Harrell's course is an excellant online training course.
h988 - maybe if you could type a coherent sentence and/or paragraph that actually made sense, maybe you would get more from the course you chose.

H988, sorry to be critical of you son but I have no idea what you said here... just a bit of advise... read your post before you hit 'submit' use the spell checker and give some thought to what you are saying... I see where you say you have over 10 years experience... well, if you talk like you write, you probably have had a bit of trouble... again, sorry to be critical but you really need to clarify your thoughts and get them on paper in some form of order before you post.......... Now you can blast me if you like.......... it's ok........ I got lots of scars... and I heal quickly...

Quote: Sorry for the typos . I dont have the full use of my hand. I receiver a injury during the first gulf war. Well, now that we all feel stupid... I still say just take your time, h988, you can still go slow and make corrections before you hit the post key... even with a disability you will need to provide a pretty orderly approach if you want to succeed here... but then, I see where you have over 10 years in this business??? so you probably already know that, I assume. We on this site are very quick to jump but we mean well and what we say usually is straight up and as you can see... to the point. Sorry for whatever ails you, just slow down on your typing a bit and read what you send cause it really did not make a lot of sense.... at least to me.... hang in there. ... and fix up a signature line so we know what kind of background you have.... it would help us understand your situation and goals.
