Your idea of a new national association is welcome. It is time for a new association. I am personally not a member of the current associations out there. I need something to believe in. I would be happy to help with the California aspect. I have other ideas that would enable members with value added services. Feel free to email me if you would like.

Post subject: Washington State Association Available
 Post Posted: Sun 04 Apr 2004 12:31

   I agree with everyone that an association is very important for our our industry. I agree that our voices must be heard and I also agree that it will be better in numbers.

There are several associations out there for our industry but I feel that they do not benefit us as much as they should. Just because I have a plaque or an ID card saying that I am a member or am able to attend a seminar here and there does not mean much to me.

I want an association that will stand up to Legislature and voice our views and opinions and make laws that will assist us instead of putting us out. I want an association that when I need help with a skip or information, other members will be there for me. I want an association that works for everyone. I want an association that will not create a conflict of interest or cause competitive issues.

I have just recently founded such an organization for Washington State.
WA State Fugitive Recovery and Bail Enforcement Agents Association is for everyone in our industry. Although this association focuses on WA state law and agencies, I am anticipating Out of State chapters and welcome anyone to assist in the formation of such chapters.

Everyone here seems to have the right idea - but lets not just talk about it, lets do it.

When I first read your post, I thought "Oh Great, another Assoc., I replied to you through email and you responded back promptly and you has such vigor with your questions. You really seem concerned with the opinions and advice of others. DON"T LOSE THAT QUALITY. I told u before and I'll say it again COUNT ME IN!

The Georgia Assoc. of Professional Bondsmen charges $50-100 for membership and they also hold seminars for an addt'l charge.
Remember: There are hundreds of assoc. be different, provide agents such as myself and others with substance!

I agree with everyone that an association is very important for our industry.
There are many benifits of an organized association.
I listed 3 benifits below. Add the benifits you feel an organized association will bring us. This will help with building the association.
1) Having a say in congress when it comes to passing laws.
2) Discounts on services. Like Health Coverage.
3) Opportunity to earn more money.

Thank you,
