What is recommended for getting booking photos when it is not available online through the county and the police department is not willing to work with you?

Here in Missouri, the drivers license office has a program where you can get anyone with a drivers license picture and license info. You have to of course register and pay a small fee with each request. See if your local office offers anything like that. You can also search the forum and see if there is an answer to your question on here or something that may help you.

Normally here in Minnesota we get a booking photo with our " packet " from the bond company. If they don't have one yet, we go to the jail the subject was booked into and request to get a copy of it. They normally ask what we want it for. After telling them who we work for, they give us a copy. Some of the jails have a $3 to $5 fee.

Riverside County Ca. does sell booking photos to Bail Bonding Companies..or they did when I was there in 2006. I usually went to the S.O. had to show them my credentials and case file, then they charged somewhere between $5-$10 per photo.

So I'm not understanding where your dififculty lies here.

I am not reaching this difficulty in Riverside. It's Los Angeles that is giving me the run around.

Rule of thumb... there are no rules of thumb... every Jurisdiction has, makes and enforces their own rules...

I can only address this from a bondsman standpoint but I always get a picture of usually not only the defendant but all other parties involved in the transaction... I line them up after the def gets out and take at least one full body picture of the group... if they won't let me do that I threaten to put him back in... that generally does the trick... if I employee a BEA on a skip... I provide the picture as well as all pertinent info.

Some of my jails will actually allow me to take a picture inside while bonding... with either my cell phone or small camera... some will also provide me with a booking sheet that has the 'mug' shot on it... but I reiterate.... every jail follow its own set of rules and just because one does it.... doesn't mean another will also...

As for looking nice and smiling... that works too... especially if you look like BondgirlCT Image... but you look like Ruffin or Scott you will very likely be looking at the inside of the jail.

Just walk in and give them one of these... Image

Bondsman know which counties or municipalities are difficult to obtain pictures from, and should provide you with the picture or a means to get one. Check history for previous arrests in friendlier jurisdictions, that may help. Don't forget to ask the indemnitor for a picture, they are the one you are really assisting in your endeavors.
