Michigan Bounty Hunters, opps is not enough

This is the kind of thing that gives us all a bad name, it just shows that we must always check and re-check the information that others give us.

I disagree in this instance. We all canvass target areas for possible suspect locations. The BEA's in this case asked for help from local hotels and they got a tip. They acted on it. I have done this many times myself.

Now, how they went about it may be in question. In this instance, time would have been on thier side. All they had to do was wait for the suspect to come up for "air". Of course, the local media was needing a headliner and the victim is looking for a payday.

That was my point, they received the so-called tip and then busted down the door to the wrong guys room. I know that this maybe after the fact thinking but why not wait and verify that you have the right guy before running in like gangbusters. Secondly you are correct, this woman is looking for a payday and she will most likely be rewarded by the hotel and the bond company just to make the event go away. And lastly we all know that the media is always looking to sensationalize these types of incidents, because it means more viewers, and that means more commercial dollars.

My take on this is more door kickin cowboys. No patience to wait it out and make positive visual before acting.

And, its hard enough to get hotel owners to tell you anything. This could only hurt in that respect.

Not to mention, here we go again as we are all Dog the Fucking Bounty Hunter. Im so sick of that, but until the cowboy wannabees are weeded out, we are stuck with it.

And, we are shed again in not only the public bad light, but with the po po as well.

Bad deal.

Michigan just needs more laws to take effect for those kinda people. This is what happens when states like this has no laws for bounty hunting.

Michigan, has people that watch TV to much. So they watch D.O.G and think that they can do what he dose, even with a criminal record. That's how the problems get started.

Actually, there is a new law in Michigan.

Bounty Hunting = Reward. If you read the new law carefully, and I'm sure most people will agree. You have to be a licensed P.I. or LICENSED Bail Agent ( 167b) on the approved bondsman list to bounty hunt . I will add some key points.

(h) "Professional investigator" means a person, other than an
insurance adjuster who is on salary and employed by an insurance
company, who for a fee, reward, or other consideration engages in
the investigation business.

Sec. 4. This act does not apply to any of the following:

(j) A bail agent authorized under section 167b of the Michigan
penal code, 1931 PA 328, MCL 750.167b, while performing his or her
duties as a bail agent.


So, I guess that means, all third party hunters need to get a bondsman license or PI license.

You are wrong about the licensing requirement for a bounty hunter in Michigan!
If you refer to the State Licensing Lookup section of Michigan.gov there is NO requirement for a bounty hunter only a bail bondsman. What you are looking at is something that could or will happen in the future. On the other hand there is still way to many guys that want to wear black tactical pants and run around pointing shotguns in the face of every person they come across. Again just my two cents.
