Ah come on,

There's no one size fit all answer. If 10 people gave you a straight answer you would have 10 different handguns.

Go to a range that rents the models you're interested in and fire a couple of dozen rounds through them. Then make up you own mind which one you like best.

You can go on and ask what model, make of vehicle to use. Which vest to buy, OC spray, tazer, radios and on and on.

No matter what you get you will probably want something different later.

But the spitballs are very easy to conceal!

Daron, I AGREE, sometimes I find that works better than anything.
As a deputy friend said , "sometinmes that is the only thing they understand."

Yeah, I just stood up and checked, my arms pretty much hang to the side.

In alll seriousness, for a rule of thumb, I recall an old marine saying. Dont show up to a gunfight with anything that doesnt start with a 4. That means, at least 40cal, 44 or 45, for practicality.

Then you need to think about capacity, fit, concealability (if your going to coceal it) or how your going to carry it. Every hand seems different and I know I shoot some of my handguns much better than others.

So, it all goes back to what the Weasel said, (I love that name 8) ). Ask and you will get many answers.

For me, a good 45ACP that fits me and is fairly concealable with at least 10 capacity is hard to beat.
