I don't want to re-hash the less-than-lethal "LTL" discussion in detail here, but c'mon people.

Rubber bullets fired from a shotgun should not be used in-doors where normal distances are typically no greater than the largest part of the living area; otherwise, the close proximity between the target and the shotgun could produce a lethal result.

I'm not pointing fingers or second-guessing Mr. Smith, but I've made this point clear before. At any rate, I wasn't there, so I can't speak in support of or against Mr. Smith's decision.

Without getting into argument over the Taser issue, the plain and simple fact is that some people (reportedly over 70 since 2001) have died after being subdued with a Taser--I know that Taser is a company name of an electronic device that shoots out barbs and all.

If the reports are accurate, then how could a device be billed as LTL?

Last I heard, a Clark County Nevada cororner ruled a post-taser death a homicide, but I haven't heard anything on that since.

LTL devices should only be used for justifiable Self-Defense and not for making an arrest easier.

Finally, most of the pros herein are on the record voicing concerns that it only takes one incident to cause changes that may or may impact the trade in general--for better or worse.

Rex
