Cave Springs Offers Amnesty

By The Morning News
Amnesty for people with outstanding warrants issued by the Cave Springs Police Department will be held March 26-30.

"They can come to us anytime during that week and we will just issue them a new court date," said Police Chief Brian Biscamp. "We won't arrest them, there will be no jail time and they won't have to go through a bondsman."

Those with warrants need to go to Cave Springs City Hall on Arkansas 112 during business hours. The process will take about five minutes, Biscamp said.

For those who have court ordered commitments, Biscamp said they can come in, pay their fines in full and jail time will be waived.

If no one is at City Hall, Biscamp advised calling Benton County Central Communications at 273-5532 and ask for a Cave Springs officer.

They do this every year - it is "it's all about the money".
It is always done around tax time when folks are getting their checks and the town / county figures at least this way they will get theirs and be done with it. Lose alot of bonds around this time of year due to that. The jail time that is being waived is the time involved in cash bonds when any other time they would not have the $ to get out an0d would set their time / fines out.

"And they won't have to go through a bondsman." As opposed to the idea that if they had made bond the first time then the county would either be gettiing their fines and costs or the forfeited bond amount? Way to go Chief!! You're the epitome of "Justice for Sale."
