I would have to agree on the point of deleted posts even though I do not practice the cut and paste myself like Ruffin says it takes up to much space but in the case of a deleted post or posts it would add to the continuation of the topic.

I'm just curious..who says it is controversial ? How do you know who agrees and who doesn't ? What is the empirical data you make this all-knowing, all commanding, authoritative statement "Some agree, many don't..." ? Did you run a poll ? If so I didn't see it.

You are new here, where as I am not. You have made only a few posts, where as I have made hundreds. Perhaps you are not familiar with the old addage " When in Rome...". The norm for this community is to not constantly quote from 1 post immediately to the next one. That is being totally redundant.

However, if a few posts down the line you wish to repeat something someone said earlier, then by all means, that is what it is there for. Used properly, it is a valuable tool. But to be abused in the manner in which newbies are doing so called for a tactful, respectful professional correction so they wouldn't be shunned or ignored simply because thier behaviours were becoming annoying.

A word of advice to you Mr. Baldwin if you wish to be counted as a professional here would be to come across a little less as a know it all.

I believe that was me.

I don't, but then again, I didn't claim to.

Empirical data that people disagree? The fact that you and I are having this conversation proves that people disagree and it is therefore controversial. Polls, of course, aren't releative to much of anything.

I've noticed that some people seem to think it's a badge of honor how many posts they have or how much material they can cut n paste in each. Seems to me that it should be the quality of what you write that matters. But that it is only my opinion.

I call them like I see them, ilke it or lump it. Since I'm still a student, it's pretty obvious that I don't know everything. The more I learn, the more I know how much I don't know.

I see. So be it. Your attitude speaks volumes of your personality and character.

Well then we will simply agree to disagree. As far as the quality of my posts go, several people have told me, both online and in person that they appreciate my contributions and that they have benefitted from them. Just like I have benefitted from those I consider to be my mentors and peers.

Anyway, to each his/her own.

Take care and God Bless.

And you. We agree on this last paragraph, 100%.
