I agree with everyone that an association is very important for our our industry. I agree that our voices must be heard and I also agree that it will be better in numbers.
There are several associations out there for our industry but I feel that they do not benefit us as much as they should. Just because I have a plaque or an ID card saying that I am a member or am able to attend a seminar here and there does not mean much to me.
I want an association that will stand up to Legislature and voice our views and opinions and make laws that will assist us instead of putting us out. I want an association that when I need help with a skip or information, other members will be there for me. I want an association that works for everyone. I want an association that will not create a conflict of interest or cause competitive issues.
I have just recently founded such an organization for Washington State.
WA State Fugitive Recovery and Bail Enforcement Agents Association is for everyone in our industry. Although this association focuses on WA state law and agencies, I am anticipating Out of State chapters and welcome anyone to assist in the formation of such chapters.
Everyone here seems to have the right idea - but lets not just talk about it, lets do it.
