DUI, other charges for bail bondsman Wednesday, February 27, 2008 By MICHAELANGELO CONTE JOURNAL STAFF WRITER NORTH BERGEN - A Jersey City bail bondsman with a criminal record was charged with driving under the influence and resisting arrest after sideswiping another car, which then slammed into a tree on Bergenline Avenue Monday, officials said. David Sainato, 41, of Kingwood Road in Weehawken, was arrested around 7:30 p.m. at his mother's home on Third Avenue near 86th Street, according to the Hudson County Sheriff's Office. A sheriff's officer saw Sainato's Cadillac speeding up Bergenline Avenue near 84th Street, but by the time he turned the cruiser around and starting chasing him, the accident had occurred at 85th Street, reports said. The 55-year-old woman driver of the other car complained of injuries, including chest pain from the car's airbag, and said she'd been sideswiped, reports said. A witness told police the woman's car had been struck by a two-door Cadillac that was traveling the wrong way on Third Avenue. Police found the Cadillac on Third Avenue after it pulled into a driveway and slammed into a parked car, reports said. Sainato was arrested after police found his speech slurred and said he had trouble standing and smelled of alcohol, reports said, adding that he struggled and tried to push the officers away. Sainato was in prison from 1990 to 1994 on numerous counts, including conspiracy to commit arson, state corrections officials said. In July 2003 he was sentenced to four years probation after pleading guilty to a November 2000 assault by auto, Hudson County Prosecutor Edward DeFazio said. Sainato owns A Daves Bail Bonds on Newark Avenue. |

How many of this type accidents or arrests occur every day all over the country without the perpetrator's profession being noted? Or maybe they are reported, but we limit our searches to keywords that apply only to us? I know that I do. |

Questions... 1) How did this guy get a Bail Bonds License anyhow? 2) Dosen't the State check backgrounds there? 3) An if the state dose check backgrounds, how did this guy slip through the cracks? 4) Do you really think that the State will do something now? |
