"Mahoney said bondsmen lack the standards of law enforcement officers or even any standards at all that he could discern."

There will always be a 'Mahoney' in LE. A somewhat slanted article overall I think. Thanks for finding it Jason. It will be interesting to see what happens in WISC.

It is very slanted, indeed! It will be very interesting to see what happens in Wisconsin. I'm hoping that commercial bail is brought back to that state and that it opens up the doors for lawful recovery there.

Budget committee approves bail bondsmen pilot program in 5 counties

The provision would initially allow private bail bonds in Dane, Kenosha, Milwaukee, Racine and Waukesha counties. Bail bond agents would have to pay the state a $1,000 licensure fee. Recovery agents would have to be licensed private detectives and wouldn't be allowed to display badges.

Well . . . it is a start . . . now if the Governor signs it

LU, I could be wrong but I think Walker is for allowing private bail.

He is . . . Last time around this was shut down by the Democrats. I have "family" in that area so I think that this would be a good thing :)
