The second article is downright scary...

If I had to pay the courts 9 grand a month on forfeiture payments... I think I would skip too.... I don't MAKE 9 grand a month.... Gail does, but I am lucky to make $500.... and I have to give Gail $250 of that.... I was forced to buy a Harley because it gets a lot better gas mileage than my Silverado diesel pickup.... and I had to buy a little fish and ski boat so I could fish for my dinner.... and I had to keep the pool table in my garage so I could make some extra money on Saturday nite... and the pool in my backyard is now accepting memberships.... $500 a summer, per member... we really have to scrimp and save to take care of our monthly bills........... $9000 a month to the courts????? ............. shheeeezzzzz..... no way....

Tell ya what... if it wasn't for my piddly little check from Obama and a measly little check from UPS... I would have to get back in a big rig... and at my age... that would not be fun... I would very likely have to sell my gun collection.... I had to max out 4 credit cards just to get a ticket to Vegas... God knows what I'm gonna do if Scott doesn't pay for my liquor... and I am hoping Tony will loan me a car to drive and maybe an old tie to go along with the sport coat I got from Good Will..... I hope the tuna fish sandwiches don't go bad in my suitcase....

... is the luggage compartment on those airplanes .... air conditioned?

Man, I'm glad I'm not in Pennsylvania.... bbbbbbrrrrrrrrr.............

Thoroughly enjoyed our short chat... and yes I am on my third glass of White Zinfandel... that was true... and Gail is finishing up her large... 'water glass' of a 'Bloody Mary' which I fixed (here in the back woods of Virginia... drinks are made in "water glasses" or most often, 'mason jars'... not fancy glasses... and with 100 proof Absolute.... and you know that was a good one?!!! Might be an exciting Tuesday... even had a nice stalk of celery...

Tony, rest assured, if professional speakers do not show up... never fear... Scott and a few of us... can improvise and provide the attendees with a very entertaining evening... trust me... a little of 'Ron White' is in all of us.... and if all else fails.. we can tell some recovery stories that will put you in the aisles... at least Scott can... 8) )

See you and the rest of the crew in Vegas... I cannot wait...

sorry, got off the subject... I apologize  ....

Bill,

Sometimes when talking with the Boss, she will tape record it so after 5 minutes and we both can't remember what we started to talk about, she can rewind the tape to the beginning so we can find out why or what we wanted to discuss.

So I too, get started in one direction and end up somewhere else.

Oh yea the PA bail bondsman that owes the county $100s of thousands. No county in CA would let a bail agent get that far behind in summary judgments.

Since every county in the state is broke, they all are now getting very aggressive in their collections. If a bail agent doesn't pay within 30 days of the final demand, the county / state will cut off that bail agent and the surety from posting anymore bonds until the SJ is paid.

Years ago, Ventura county would wait until 4:55PM on Friday, to issue a cease order on a bail agent and his surety if a SJ went unpaid.

That would shut down that bail agent, the surety and ALL its agents for the weekend.

Ventura has no problem with collecting on its SJs anymore.

I should also point out that there are about 5 or 6 "professional" bondsmen, called Bail Permittees in CA. Everyone else is bail agent working under a surety company.

That is the way it is here in Virginia.

I also see where Colorado just passed that controversial bill SB186 as mentioned by Steve in his thread... "Is this true?"... I have deleted the post on this thread, but it is on Steve's thread as mentioned.

I heard that the bill was defeated. Guess I will have to do some research on my own.

Yes Tom, the other 2600 plus bail agents in CA are very "unprofessional." And we like it that way!
