There is always "more" to a story. I will wait for the details, before making an assumption. |

Times must be pretty bad for bail in Florida. Bail bondsman finds himself in jail By Austin L. Miller Staff report Published: Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at 3:27 p.m. Last Modified: Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at 3:27 p.m. A local bail bondsman turned himself into authorities Monday night after an arrest warrant was issued for him, charging him with unlawful use of a credit card, according to officials. Ocala police Detective Steve Thibodeau said Robert D. Fox, 38, owner of Foxy’s Bail Bonds at 2931 NW Eighth Place, surrendered to authorities in Levy County, where he posted his $1,000 bail and was released. Thibodeau had obtained the warrant for Fox after surveillance video showed him using a stolen Staples credit card. Last November, a police officer talked with a woman who told the official she had received a bill for $595.96 for office supplies she had never purchased. The card, officials noted, was used between September and October. Researching the document, the detective discovered the property the card was sent to was occupied by Foxy’s Bail Bonds. From there, the detective asked for and received video that showed Fox using the card at Staples. Thibodeau compared photos from the video with a picture he had obtained and confirmed the person was Fox. He then obtained an arrest warrant for Fox. Fox declined comment to a reporter. |
