Staffer from disgraced bounty hunter school to testify in Littlejohn trial

A staffer from a disgraced bounty hunter school accused of giving Darryl Littlejohn a fake badge will testify.
A staffer from a disgraced bounty hunting school that provided fake badges to felons was expected to take the stand Thursday in the kidnapping trial against a bouncer accused of murdering Imette St. Guillen.

Chester Pietrzak was the director of instructors at the U.S. Recovery Bureau before it was shut down by the NYPD and Federal Protective Service in July.

The former Marine Corps MP and North Carolina cop now works as a security guard at Home Depot.

U.S. Recovery Bureau had locations in Brooklyn, Manhattan and Jersey, where students paid $860 for official-looking gear and lessons on holding a baton and taking down "fugitives."

Prosecutors say bouncer and accused killer Darryl Littlejohn boasted of his training there.

Of the schools' 943 graduates, 78 were convicted felons, authorities said. Founders Ralph Rios and Robert Neves - an ex-NYPD Detective - are facing federal conspiracy charges for handing out badges that looked too close to real law enforcement badges.

Pietrzak's testimony could help prosecutors flesh out Littlejohn's penchant for dressing like a cop - bolstering testimony by his kidnapping victim.

Shanai Woodard, 22, told jurors in Queens Supreme Court Wednesday that Littlejohn wore an official-looking uniform - bearing the words "Fugitive Agent" - and had handcuffs, a holstered gun and a walkie-talkie when he kidnapped her on a South Jamaica street in October 2005.

The alleged kidnapping happened four months before Littlejohn is accused of raping and murdering a drunken St. Giullen.

Littlejohn also bragged about being a U.S. Marshal during a conversation with St. Guillen at the Falls Bar, where the college student was last seen alive, police said.

Littlejohn is facing rape and murder charges for the February 2006 attack.

While basically informative, that article was extremely, extremely poorly written. That so-called "writer/reporter" needs to go back to journalism school and actually learn how to write a story.

Chester Pietrzak
An instructor from a shady bounty hunting school took the stand Thursday in the kidnapping trial of the bouncer accused of murdering Imette St. Guillen.

Chester Pietrzak was the director of instructors at the U.S. Recovery Bureau when accused killer Darryl Littlejohn signed up for a three-day, $860 course in 2005, he said in Queens Supreme Court.

The school was shut down in July by the NYPD and Federal Protective Service, who charged that founders Ralph Rios and Robert Neves - an ex-NYPD detective - gave out police badges that looked too close to real law-enforcement gear.

Pietrzak, an ex-Marine and North Carolina cop, taught hand-to-hand combat, he said.

After completing the weekend class, students got a badge and ID, Pietrzak said. They could also buy handcuffs, batons and official-looking police gear, he said.

Students were supposed to get a background check, but of the school's 943 graduates, 78 were convicted felons, authorities said.

Pietrzak was shown a form signed by Littlejohn, but said he didn't remember the defendant.

"I don't remember all the students I have taught," he said.

Pietrzak's testimony could show jurors that Littlejohn liked to pose as a cop, bolstering earlier testimony by an alleged kidnapping victim.

Littlejohn bragged about being a U.S. Marshal during a conversation with St. Guillen at the Falls Bar, where the graduate student was last seen alive, police said.

Littlejohn faces rape and murder charges in the February 2006 attack.

** The originator of the USRB was a Nibe graduate and started this circus in Saddlebrook NJ as he was a bookread teacher with no hands on experience. This guy Chet was involved with him since the near beginning and I thought he was a partner and then more or less took over after the originator died young of cancer. About 5 years ago I took on a few cases that Chet couldn't accomplish and 1 inparticular that he screwed up big time as he was a heavy drinker and had 1 municipality out looking to arrest him for unorthodoxed and illegal methods that he used. I wondered where he dissappeared as being an originator of this scam.

** And yes Ruffin, poorly written and he's probably a bad dresser too. .......

Well Yak most of us aren't wealthy, semi-retired "gumbahs" who are now reputable, high-end dealers of "antiquities" who have Christian Dior, Armani, Ralph Lauren, and Mr. Gucci on speed dial.... :P Perhaps 1 day, the rest of us poor, blue collar working stiffs can dress to your standards....

Dom Yak

Please except my apologies humbly in the stead of Ruffin, for he knows not of what he speaks.
He will prostrate himself before you, kiss your ring and reign punishment on whomsoever you desire
without another word spoken...

Ex-sleuth in NYPD badge racket strikes $10G deal
BY THOMAS ZAMBITO
DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITER

Wednesday, January 14th 2009, 7:18 PM

Former NYPD Detective Robert Neves will pay a $10,000 fine for handing out hundreds of phony NYPD badges that ended up in the hands of stickup men and even a suspected killer.

As part of a deal reached with Manhattan federal prosecutors on Wednesday, Neves won't be prosecuted if he stays clean for six months and stops handing out the badges from his bounty hunter schools.

Prosecutors say 78 of the 943 badges given to graduates of Neves' bounty hunter schools in Brooklyn, Manhattan and Passaic, N.J., went to convicted felons. Some used the tin badges to impersonate cops during robberies, get out of tickets or get inside government buildings.

The badges were patterned after NYPD detective shields and were inscribed with the words "U.S. Recovery Bureau" and "Special Agent."

Still pending are charges against Neves co-defendant Ralph Rios, who ran the schools with Neves.

Among those U.S. Recovery Bureau grads who flashed the badge was Darryl Littlejohn, the ex-con accused of raping and killing John Jay College graduate student Imette St.Guillen in 2006. Littlejohn got a job as a bouncer at the Manhattan bar where he met St. Guillen by showing off his badge and claiming to be a fugitive enforcement agent.

Littlejohn was sentenced to 25 years in prison last week for kidnapping a Queens woman as she walked home from York College in 2005
