It would sure be interesting if someone would take the time to verfiy and validate the claims of some of the so called "Experts" in the field of Bail Recovery. In particular, every time I see Burton's mug on TV, I think of the background I conducted on him and though he has a great following, he should be checked out a little closer. He has many questions to answer but he has built such an image that it is assumed he is the real deal. Even the media has allowed him passage without checking him out. Perhaps it is time someone bellies up to the 'bounty hunter bar' (as he puts it) and calls him on some of his claims. I've done my homework and as a retired bondsman, I can assure you Bob Burton would never have worked for my agency. I guess my first question would be, 'why won't you go to Florida to pick up my skip, Bob?' for starters. (Yes, I know why but does his fan club) :D

I cannot speak in either direction as I do not know Burton, it but is fairly clear that he is well respected in the industry. This is a pretty serious allegation..

I was once told by someone in the industry that Burton jumped bail on a DUI charge in Florida, I checked the Florida Dept. of Law Enforcement Site and learned that there is a warrant for a Robert Burton here are the results.

2 ROBERT BURTON 04/08/1964 WHITE MALE Pasco County Sheriff's Office
3 ROBERT E BURTON II 12/30/1963 WHITE MALE Highlands County Sheriff's Office

I never met Burton but I think he's older than the persons listed above.

Retired Bondsman if you have specific information as to Mr. Burtons character please clarify.

Chuck,

If any of the pics on his website are him then he definitely isn't one of those you found in Florida. Check it out at http://www.bobburtonbountyhunter.com/

Since there have been no verifications of the insinuations made I think we can assume there is no validity to them. I do try and verify any info, good or bad, before I jump in with it.

i do not personaly know mr bb but my associate law does bb has been around for many many years and has paid his dues-i do believe that fl problem has been taken care of and it was a traffic offense--if we disqualify bea with traffic offenses and misdomeanors we might loose most of the bea out there(i my self have been charged with a few misdomeanors but have gotten out of all of them) if anybody has proof positive of felony records of anybody on this site put them out here-they are public records then we know not to use these people-i myself use only licensed people in there state if it is a non license state than i do a backround check myself--if you want lily white this proffession is not for you we live on the edge every day sometimes we fall off and must get up and take care of business-- i am not an angel--angels do not go head to head with bad guys--suffice to say most cops are not angels- i took human life 6 times in my career-i do not think that helps with get past the pearly gates but i am still here making pops--most of the old pros can smell a rat--that is an important skill for you newbies to learn

I think that attacking someone without supplying verifiable data is wrong. We have enough trouble in our lives without one of our own causing more.

Additionally, if you have a problem with a specific individual, then go to him/her and deal with it professionally. Just to "slam" someone on an internet website, probably unknown to that individual, is a cowardly act. The person under attack has no idea and no chance to defend themselves.

Also, that is not what this website is for...negativity. The founder of this website and one of the moderators will not tolerate nor allow any defaming or derogatory remarks about anyone on here...so you are wasting your time writing those kinds of articles to begin with.

Re: Mr. Burton,

I have never met the man in person, but I have spoken with him on a few occasions via telephone.

1) He is a Vietnam Vet
2) He was trained, in part, by "Papa" Thorsen
3) He has countless numbers of VERIFIABLE apprehensions, both domestically and abroad.
4) He is considered, generally speaking, 1 of our industry leaders, among others.

Now, as 1 moderator posted earlier in another category, you don't have to like the man or anyone of us, for that matter; but if someone is a well known published author, guest speaker, trainer, and has verifiable arrests, then they do deserve to be respected for thier accomplishments, personalities aside.

My next point is this Mr. Retired Bondsman: I don't know you or anything about you. I could very easily call your credentials into question, just as anyone can. Who are you to question anyone ? Instead of attacking and being negative, why can't you pass on your skills, knowledge, instincts onto those who are following behind you ? Bestowing your wisdoms upon those who are asking to be taught ? Do something POSITIVE with what you have learned.

Mr. Blaylock,

Your reply is on point, well-organized, and in keeping with all aspects of professional courtesy. Well done, Sir.

First I am not sure why out of the blue this gentlemen decides to attack Bob.

I do however agree with HGUNNER, if there is confirmed felon operating in the industry we should know about it so that we do not utilize them in our operations.

In my state you can not be licensed if you are a felon or if you have had some types of Mmsdemeanors.

We have to look out for each other with out attack others!
