I have a question about database sources. I was wondering if the sites like goverment registry.org or detective-today(public records) are worth the time and money and are reliable? I was thinking about trying one out, but I would like input first. Thanks!

I can tell you that the two services I have used are: IRBsearch (dropped them last year) and Tracersinfo (I use them exclusively). I especially like the saved searches option. It saves me money and I don't have to waste paper and ink printing out everything. I can pull it up on my laptop out in the field, etc. Try tracersinfo.com.

I am about to try Skipsmasher. Has anyone used them? I think Bubba has but he is in training today and I don't want to bother him. Those who have used Skipsmasher, please post what your experiences have been. Good or Bad?

Thanks,

I use IRB (last resort, due to cost) and FindMySkip (Acurate without the cost). The others that are mentioned by Ray, have given me the run around on being able to sign up, what my authority was, and how my business license is worded (it states that my business category is "Other"). I finally decided that two was enough and stopped trying.

We only use FindMySkip.com to locate someone and as for phone look ups, we use Bellescamp.com. That's it...

Like most databases, Skipsmasher has its pros and cons. But for the same price, if not cheaper, Findmyskip.com, in my opnion, is cheaper and better.

I use several databases. In my experience, no one database is a "catch all". By cross referencing intel from different sources, if a majority of them reflect the same intel or similar, then I know that's the accurate intel I need to help close a case out.

Naturally I try the free ones first, before using fee based sources. You might try some of these:

Argali.com, Zabasearch.com, entering phone numbers or peoples names in different search engines: Google, AOL, Lycos, Yahoo, MSN, etc.

Hope this helps.
Take care and God Bless.
