Complete listing of bail agency wanted

I am trying to obtain a listing of all bail agencies throughout the US, but it appears no such master document exists. Can anyone assit me with this effort? Thanks in advance for any help.

You can locate the SIC code for this business through locate plus and purchase the list. You may find it cost prohibitive to mass email the entire list and need to narrow it down to city, state etc. In Prince George's County, Maryland alone there are over 180 licensed bail bondsman on the books.

1) Are you looking for bail bonding companies or Bail Recovery companies ?

2) Why do you need this list ?

3) Most people don't like telemarketer's, salespeople, or 3rd class bulk mailings. I've a few clients here in my area and whenever they recieve a mailing soliciting/advertising for recovery or anything that's going to cost them money they don't even look at it, just simply throw it away.

4) Also, "harvesting" information from this site is prohibited by this site's policies. None of us like Junk Mail. If you want or need something from any of us, all you have to do is simply approach us here on the forum.

Sorry about not providing more info about my inquiry. I am a graduate student and I am very interested in the practice of "pretrial release", especially commercial bail bonding. I believe commercial bail bonding is the oldest and most effective form of releasing accused parties from custody and having some reasonable expectation that those individuals will return for court and justice be allowed to run its course.
I am NOT interested in soliciting any members or bail agents or recovery agents, rather I am trying to get some info about the volume of activity that occurs in the business of making bail. Strange as this may sound, finding information about the number of bail agents, bail recovery agents, and volume of bails made and dollars represented in a single place has been nearly impossible. I have been told that several professional bail organizations exist and that they will NOT share such info with anyone because it is viewed as proprietary. I was also told that revoery agents are not nearly as reluctant to share information because they often work together in a "network fashion" when such is required.
I am trying to better understand the role of commercial bail and fugitive recovery. Without fugitive recovery, I do not see commercial bail as being effective. Most other forms of pretrial release do not involve fugitive recovery at all, so I view them as less likely to be effective.
Hopefully, this helps explain what I am trying to obtain and why I chose this organization as a source for information. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The sources for your search would be every single courthouse in America: They do have computerized records of the number of commercially released individuals and the companies who bonded them.

Bail bond companies are not going to give you any of the information you are looking for. With the exception of the big insurance companies, most bonding companies are "mom n pop" stores and basically you would be asking a person how much money they made last year.

Same things go for recovery agents....while many boast about how many career arrests they have made to date, very few, if any, will disclose how much money they made in doing so. It's none of anyone's business.

For a nominal fee, a commercial bail bondsperson posts a bond for a person charged with a crime, i.e. pre-trial release, on the condition the defendant show up for court. If the defendant fta's, then the bondperson hires a recovery agent to locate, apprehend, and return the defendant, by force if necessary, back to the original jail.

How is that confusing ?

While you claim you are a graduate student, you give us no way of authenticating your claims. What school are you attending ? What program are you in ? What course sanctioned this study you claim you are conducting ? Who can I call to verify your research ? If we were to give you any information, how would it be used ? How would it be safeguarded ? What about privacy rights, copyrights, publication royalties ? How do we know you aren't a well published author who is conducting "field" research on our industry for a up and coming blockbuster movie ?

Ex: In 1 of Michael Jackson's videos he wears Armoured knee guards and boots..like that of knights of old. There are a few companies in America who make these for various reasons. When MJ's rep. went into one of these medieval shops and custom ordered the gear, he told a lie to the manufacturer about thier intended purpose...knowing that if the armourer knew the truth he would charge more and make additional demands..probably some kind of credit for his company at the end of the video or something. So he made the gear to the specs given to him, the rep paid for them just as any other regular person does, and then next thing you know, there's Michael Jackson wearing them on a multi-million dollar earning video ! Did the armourer get anything ? NO ! Was he cheated out of opportunities for advertising, marketing, revenues ? You better believe he was !

Everyone knows that graduate research papers are published, in some form or another, and often times used in the entertainment, military, and/or legal professions with no compensation being issued to the sources of those publications.

You ask us for information, yet you give us none about yourself.... Others will do as they please, as for myself I don't trust you or your post. Anyone can claim anything online at anytime. Our industry is full of con artists, liars, and thieves.
So maybe you are legit, then again maybe you aren't....I don't know and without you allowing us to verify your statements and intended purposes we will never have any way of knowing.

Mr Clarke there have been a couple of studies done in regards to Commercial Bail and its' significance on Society two are mentioned right here on FRN under thread "Manhunter" in the Forum "Media Coverage"

Well you will need to develop a little more research skills. Not to be hard on you but, if you would have gone to the only national bail agent association website, you would have seen a link to 2 well documented studies on the private surety bail bond industry.

As far as bail association having your requested information and it being proprietary, hog wash. They don't have the specific info you want. No one has. It would cost way to much money and time to gather.

I too am a little curious as your first request was for a listing of all bail agencies. None exist. If you want just numbers of bail agents nationwide, contact the 46 State departments of insurance and they can provide you with those numbers.

Finally, any figure on the dollar amount of witten bail would be a WAG without actually going to every court in the country and adding up each bond that they have received.

So please let us know more about your research. I am very curious to see of you're legitimate or not.
