I will ask one of my sons. On a side note: Kinda funny isn't it. Our generation has to quite often ask for assistance with this type of stuff from the youngers. LOL, Right? Who is going to be laughing when all the stuff takes a cr*p . . . some of our kids kids can't even tie shoelaces. I am thinking that whoever invented velcro is mighty righ and smiling very largley . . . but on the brighter side of that is . . . yep, who gets to ask for help then and they have to ask us LOLOLOL |

I have to ask Diana's son all the time for help with this teck stuff. It's funny i ask this question to applicants, "" How would you stay in business or conduct investigations if all the computers crashed, and about 80% would be lost and would not have a clue about old school ways. I still keep paper files on our cases as i have lost stuff due to harddrive crashes. |

Yeah, everytime I hear that paperless is the way to go I just laugh. I keep backups, but was raised in the old school where computers regularly crashed and data disappeared, and know that you can never totally recover what you lost. Or you change computers and have to reload all programs and restore all data. Okay, honestly I was raised in the day where PC's didn't exist and even mainframes (how many know that term) were not user friendly and not many companies had them. Mainframes took up whole rooms, and had to be maintained at a certain temperature to properly work. A company had to use a programmer to write their software and maintain it. DOS was the operating system used by everyone. Yep, those were the days back before Bill Gates developed Windows, and (tongue in cheek) Al Gore invented the internet. Viruses weren't an issue, and people didn't think that relying on a machine was perfect. I won't even begin to mention when VHS came along, then DVD's, and now DVR's. It is amazing at how fast we are evolving. Isn't technology great? Now if we could only figure out how to use it . |
