Isnt "Dog" a felon??? He does work in Hawaii so if he is then you can move there and do recovery work. Maybe even get your own TV show. ;-)

Some States like Colorado and Indiana allow felons to get licensed as long as a certain time period has elapsed 10 or 15 years since the offense.

However I suggest that you seek an expungement, given your age at the time of the offense you may be considered a youthful offender depending on if your crime was considered violent, if you were a youthful offender you would not be considered a felon.

Felons although able to operate in some States are often considered a liability by insurance companies, clients and Law Enforcement therefore Felons will find that getting work will be nearly impossible.

Even in Indiana the 10 year felony & the 5 year misdemeanor laws does not guarantee you will be issued a license. How the law reads is you can submit an application to the commissioner after this amout of time to be considered for a license. As far as getting cases your chance of that would be slim to none. My advise would be to go into a differant line of work.

I may not know what states will or will not let you get a license but, I can tell you that here in Arkansas the answer is NO!. I does not matter how long it has been since you were convicted of a felony. Once convicted you will not get a state license of any kind here not even to cut hair. Sorry, maybe take some of the others advice, Call Dog Chapman in Hawaii or, find another dream to follow. It may be harsh but, this type of work is harsh. Our company will not even consider a convicted felon even if it is legal in certain states.

Good Luck.

One way would be to work in a state that doesnt have any laws pertaining to Bail Enforcmeent. Until January 1st of this year you could have worked here in missouri.

Tennessee does allow expungments, you just have to hang up and try again until you get the right person, a lot of departments in Tenessee have people who do not know what they are talking about or just dont care to deal with anyone at all. I just finished getting a friend of mine an expungment after 7 years of being convicted over a petty crime (auto theft with a key bs while a minor) with a couple of probation violations to make it a felony convicetion.
I suggest just keep tring unless it is a serious crime or domestic then you can pretty much hang it up.

It is my understanding that Dog Chapman has an extensive criminal history. One of the FR subscribers sent me the following several months ago and confirms that, as of last week, warrants for Dog, his brother and son are still active in Mexico. Here is a link to what I rec'd: www.talkguests.com/dogchapman.htm

Personally I do not have a lot of respect for Mexican Authorities.. and it's not because they are Mexican. I have a distaste for their professionalism... or lack thereof.
