I have no experience in this field, only a furious desire to enter. In the Job Oppurtunites forum I found this: Those interested in becoming Associates with BECPA should visit our Web Site. www.becpa.org Chuck Jordan, BECPA Does this imply that if you pass their course they will set you up as an associate with a working agent? I have been spending hours on-line and at the library looking for information. There are so many different training courses all claiming they are the best and the others are a waste, it is difficult to know what training path to pursue. So, I feel the best way of course is to be taken on as an apprentice and hence my interest in the above cited reference. Would taking one of these courses or geting a Criminal Justice degree be more worthwhile in your eyes if I were to apply as a trainee under your leadership? Thanks! Michael in Utah |

Michael, Those that take our training and pass the background investigation are listed in our directory as an Assistant. Your listing lets our associates know that you have attended our training, passed our background investigation and are available to assist with cases. Although we encourage our Associates to utilize Assistants in our Network there is no guarantee they will, it depends on their needs and if they feel comfortable with you. After you have worked enough cases to get experienced and are licensed as required in your State we will upgrade you to an Associate. I see that you live in Utah, at the moment we don't have any Associates in your State. In Utah you are required to work as an apprentice before you can get licensed, unfortunately BEA's in Utah are reluctant to take on an apprentice because it creates competition for them.
