The following link is to a recent incident in Denver Colorado. This is all we need is more bad PR. They broke into the wrong house and put a gun to this ladies head. Now the Dever DA is pressing charges and wants the Legislature look into the laws governing BEA.

I BELIEVE THAT COLORADO IS A LICENSE STATE-THESE BEAS SHOULD BE CHARGED AND HAVE THEIR LICENSE REVOKED-ALSO I BELIEVE CIVIL LITIGATION FOR MONATERY DAMAGE SHOULD HAPPEN-

FIRST WE MUST SEEK THE TRUTH WE ALL KNOW THERE ARE THREE SIDES TO EVERY STORY-IF THE BEAS DID WHAT THEY ARE ACCUSED OF THEN THEY SHOULD PAY WITH A JAIL SENTENCE

ON THE OTHER SIDE WE ALL KNOW THIS ALSO HAPPENS IN THE LAW ENFORCEMENT WORLD ALSO

I agree that there are more sides to this issue, If you click on the link you will see the media side of this issue which makes BEA's and this business look bad, it sounds like we belong to the wild wild west with out any regulation. I was just pointing out that we do not need any more bad PR regardless of who is right or wrong. It would be nice to see the main stream media once in awhile show a positive spin on our industry. I know that would not make an interesting story for the 10 o'clock news, It was just wishful thinking.

No licensing requirements in Colorado. This is the state where there is a 15 year window that allows felons to conduct bail enforcement activities provided the last conviction was at least 15 years ago.

COLORADO REVISED STATUTES ANNOTATED TITLE 12. PROFESSIONS AND OCCUPATIONS GENERAL ARTICLE 7. BAIL BONDING AGENT ยง 12-7-101
(1.5) "Bail recovery" means actions taken by a person other than a peace officer to apprehend an individual or take an individual into custody because of the failure of such individual to comply with bail bond requirements.
