Yak or any other pro in NJ help please...

I've tried looking up in the New Jersey sites and the NJSP sites for laws regarding taser guns....i cant find anything specific to this matter in wheather it is or isnt allowed by FRA's to use...before i invest money or time for one id like to know if anyone here (Pro's) can post up a link to this....again ive tried reaserching...ive found some articles in the NJSP sites but nothing that specific to this method of self defense..Any ideas?

04/18/07- 0705 Hrz- Contacted NJSP Sussex Office- Sgt. on duty had no idea if people were allowed to carry stun/taser guns. (Um...can we say "wow!?")
Was told to call back after 0800 Hrz and speak to Sgt. Wistermayer (Arms Statue(s) Expert) and will do so.
0830 Hrz- The response from the arms statue expert is a "No....only law enforcement agencies can carry stun/taser guns."

laws regarding taser guns..


Rick, .... No, go through the old posts and i believe you'll find your statuate. We had a poster from Dunnellen NJ a while back claim that he was allowed to carry a paint ball gun because the manufacturer of these weapons certified him after his training by them. ..... WRONG!!!!!
Remember, here in NJ, we aren't even allowed to carry lead in our pencils. We are currently on our way to the Supreme Court, as the Hudson County Superior Appelate Ct has denied us this RIGHT, claiming that until we are regulated, we are NOT yet an entity. Drop this site into your favorites list, for you will use it often in this proffession.

Yea i just talked to the sgt and then called a buddy of mine in NJSP and they both said the same thing....No...only NJSP, local, and county can carry them....its a freakin cryin shame, dont even feel free in this country anymore

Well if either of you or anyone else for that matter had the time and money to push the issue through the legal system, you could test the waters via T.vs T because it has the provision "....unusual weapons.."

I know it is an ambigous clause at best: Defining it, explaining it, acceptance of it, enforcing it, etc. Nevertheless it is there.

Just a provoking thought.

Understood. That would be a deff GREAT idea but the fact of the matter is: Going with suggestions on changing things to the New Jersy Government is like sitting there in front of a brick reinforced wall, slamming your forehead into it over, over, and over again. They dont budge. NJ right now (in my opinion) is even worse in the weapons control laws then NY or DC are and thats pretty tuff. And were about to get pounded on (as bounty hunters) by new upcoming bills, laws, and regualtions pertaining straight to bounty hunters, FRA's, BRA's, etc.

There is a dark and cold storm brewing here. And its not lookin pretty for us in this state.

Just to rectify my past posts, I wasn't specifically referring to stun guns or tazers. I posted not long ago, when the NJ AG's Office approved the use of these weapons here in our state, but limited only to Federal, State, County, and municipal agency's. Our case in NJ is now sponsered by the NRA. As far as personally being able to push the issue??? .... I'd have to hit the lottery first, ... wouldn't you??.

Absolutely...

Why I said "if"...but I am glad you have the NRA pushing for you...just wandering if they wouldn't be able to use that clause ? Just an idea.

while T. v. T. may allow "unusual weapons" that SCOTUS decision does not abbrogate the right of states to regulate public safety. (i.e. licensing of BEA in many states, or the requirement to obtain a firearms permit of some type.)
