Can anyone suggest a good vendor for receipt books that are reasonable. And has anyone tried Google Voice as an alternative for a 2nd phone number.

Thanks,

There is probably a less expensive way but I go to a local printer to have mine done...Kinda expensive but it's the law.

Of course I'm referring to the pre numbered receipts. Also requires other info on the receipt but I'm sure you're aware of that.

Yeah...I am new in the industry and I am a stickler for details and doing this correctly. The least expensive I came across so far was $117 for 2- Books (2- Copy Carbonless)...what do you think on this price.

Thanks for the reply. 8)

$3 at any office supply company... that is for a simple general book that has lasted me at least 8 or 9 years... 100 pages in the little book with a carbon copy... that is important... you can give them the original of this and keep the carbon... the next one I show here, is a bit more involved and I keep the original of that one.

The regular receipts, I have printed with all my stipulations... at the top it covers all... "Bond/Collateral Receipt and Bond Conditions". That covers it all and I have it made with two copies... carbon and original... I sign, the indemnitor signs and the defendant signs... they get the carbon, I keep the original and it has a checklist with everything pertinent to the contract... in fact, I have attached a .pdf file of the one I use... take a look, it covers it all and I have them made up in 100 copy batches.

Cheap at any office supply place.... Staples is the least expensive around here, but check around. I get my forms printed there. I write around 300 bonds a year and the forms cost me around $150 for everything... and I mean all of them, including this one.

This is a sample, got my name in it but you can use it if you want. I wrote it up and have been using it as a catch all for years, never had a problem and it lays everything out if you have to prove anything in court as to receipts, payments or conditions. I am sure there are others that use something more sophisticated but this is all I have ever needed.

I use a Google Voice phone number for my website and my business cards because I don't feel very comfortable with putting my personal cell phone number out there in the public domain. This approach also lets me know that the incoming phone calls are business-related because of the greeting that I hear before I accept incoming phone calls. This lets me know how to greet the caller. I never used a Google Voice phone number for business when I was a bail agent.

We use 3 copy carbon less, pre-printed and numerically sequential, it is the law here like in NC. I pay $400.00 for 2000 in books of 50 at a local printer. ! copy stays in the book, 1 to the file and 1 to the indemnitor.

Robert, just my opinion but I'd go with three instead of two. As you know, receipts are very important in NC and they must be exactly like DOI requires. You can get by legally with the one's you referred to but I would still go with the original and two copies. To answer your question, that price is in line with the printers prices I use.
