Post subject: | WEBSITE SPAMMING |
Seems like a party or parties unknown have possibly infected this website with some kind of spamming program. A couple of months ago another member complained of the same thing. I too am now a victim of this program generating e-mails from my e-mail account to people I don't know. I also have been told that others on here are now experiencing the same thing. I have had my computer scanned, checked out, spy-checked etc 9 ways to Sunday by computer experts. They found nothing in my computer. So it was suggested that perhaps it is originating from this website. I don't know. I am contacting the website administrator to ask him to run a check on this network. |

Ruffin I just got a call from MR stiles about this. I got numerous emails from his address that where infected with viruses. Somebody on here has copied his address and is using this to send out the virus. He assured me that it was not him. |

Unfortunately it is happening to me as well, and no one I have had look at my computer seems to be able to isolate it. |

I have been experiencing the same problem, I don't think this site is the problem, these hackers can send spoof e-mails and make it look like it's coming from any e-mail address, for those of you familiar with caller ID spoofing it's the same concept. Anyone with an e-mail address can be a victim, I don't know if there is any way to stop it. |

Post subject: | hELP WITH UNDERSTANDING CODE |
The statement appeared in a post that they thought the problem could be originating with this website itself... The types of programs that collect e-mail addresses from websites are common and you will not ever know it is being done unless you know how to read the code that is running in the background of what you are seeing. There are all types of javascript programs that can run in the that are capable of gathering all kinds of info such as what other websites you visit and e-mail addresses of members who post on forums. while on any website go to your internet exploerer bar at top of screen, click : view" there will be a drop-down menu next click: "source" what you will be looking at is the code that the website administrator used to create the website. If you want to find out where these codes come from go to a site that offers free downloads like tucows or freedownloads.com and type in spyware in the search bar. Here you will be able to see the extent of javascript coding.\ I WILL BE BACK WITH MORE INFO ON HOW TO READ THE CODE THAT IS USED TO CREATE THIS WEBSITE AND WHETHER OR NOT IT MAY CONTAIN MALICIOUS CODE... |
