Post subject:  Where are we heading????

Received this via facebook today... I would like to hear comments...

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had recently failed an entire class. That class had insisted that Obama's socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.

The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama's plan".. All grades will be averaged and everyone will receive the same grade so no one will fail and no one will receive an A.... (substituting grades for dollars - something closer to home and more readily understood by all).

After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.

The second test average was a D! No one was happy.
When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.

As the tests proceeded, the scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.

To their great surprise, ALL FAILED and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great, but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed. Could not be any simpler than that. (Please pass this on) These are possibly the 5 best sentences you'll ever read and all applicable to this experiment:

1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.

2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.

3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it!

5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.

Let us bear in mind that our current method of providing incredible financial support to those who don't need it at all hasn't helped, either.

When we give tremendous financial aid to oil companies and WalMart, but throw roadblocks in the path of small business owners, we are just as readily setting ourselves on a path to disaster.

The pendulum shouldn't swing to the other end, for sure. But let's not fool ourselves into thinking that government support to the poor is somehow a terrible idea while bigger government support for the wealthy isn't happening.

Perspective requires that we see as many angles as possible before passing judgement.

I couldn't agree more with this poster.I don't know his name but people seem to want to hit on the foodstamps. I seldom see anything mentioned concerning corporate welfare. Living in the projects as a kid with a single Mother of three and a deadbeat dad running women and drinking, made me and my siblings a part of the welfare crowd. I remember it well, the life of riley, blocks of cheese, powdered milk some sort of cereal I can't recall and the view was really nice as well, people getting shot, cut and beat, oh yeah, the good old days.

I have only one requirement for public assistance...

Let all that ask for public assistance, be drug tested... and be tested every 30 days, as long as your in our pocket.

You pass you got it, you fail, your done.... also, drug test the congressmen and senators...

I had to take a drug test about every 3 months in order to keep my job... so lets pass that around...

If anyone disagrees with that requirement.... that tells me a lot about them...

Also, no more raises to those in Washington until this financial crisis is fixed.... and give them the same options for insurance and retirement that the rest of us have....

How's that for fairness... you want both sides equal... that's fine by me.... equal the entitlements, across the board.

Oh, one more thing..... take a very long look at foreign aid.... a very long look....

100 % Bill on your post. On the above that I clipped, even before I cut anything at all Domestic.

Bill I posted this pic just for you.
The floors were no better than the porch. That is cotton that we were surrounded by and the bathroom was a two seater down the path. I quit going into that thing when I spotted a spider

I sent the rest in a PM

I've heard "Too big to fail, To big to jail" I'm wondering if the next thing will be too big to fix. As all of you, I see people scamming the system daily and it sickens me. I'm just an average person with average intelligence, I have no idea how we'll ever get out of this mess but I'm pretty sure it's going to take a complete overhaul of our policies before we can even start to scratch the surface on repairing this country. Drug testing is fine with me, but there is a substance out there that's being used by drug dealers and users that masks weed use, I'm not sure about the other drugs except I think cocaine stays in your system for a relatively short period of time. Please correct me on this if I'm wrong, but fairly sure I'm not.
