I am looking for someone who has;no job,no physical address,no bank account,no nothing. They live in seedy Motels in my area, but I cant seem to nab him yet.The co-signer has helped some, but now he has skipped she doesn't seem to care knowing I am out for him. I have his phone number but of course he will not answer as he knows I am looking for him...any insight? Suggestions?

Thanks
Ed

Had one of those before. Spent a whole night going to every single cheap motel. Took all night till he was found at 5 am.

I take it you've spoken to some of his associates.

Whichever one was the most outspoken about how much they dislike the skip and how they haven't seen or heard from him and would contact you right away if they do etc....

That's the person you want to keep under surveillance, chances are they are hanging out with your skip.

Also, most motels have a fax, or a website/email, send them the skips photo/info, your contact info and offer of a reward. This is much quicker than driving around visiting all the motels.

Unless you have an informant offering some promising info let the case appear to go cold, take a covert, rather than overt approach so that your skip will let his guard down thinking that no ones really still looking for him.

If that doesn't work, you have his phone number which opens the door to all sorts of pre-texting possibilities. Also, if you haven't already, check social networking sites like FB to see if there's a profile, that can be a wealth of information.

There's different approaches to this job ie. covert vs. overt, and each has it's pluses and minuses. I have always operated covert when possible and only overt when necessary.

I am responding to a PM that I feel needs to be addressed in this thread...

Pinging a cell phone is possible but I will tell you that as far as I know and on the opinions and information provided by some well connected individuals... only LE and the service provider with major connections are in a position to do this. Of course, the service provider can certainly ping their phones but getting them to do it with our level of access would prove rather difficult.... I have heard many say they can do it but they have to prove it to me.... NCIS, CSI and all the others of that type are great shows and most of what they put out there is possible but I just don't believe your gonna find anyone at our level of access that can do this the way you are wanting to do... maybe if you have connections you can get it done... nothing is impossible but rather difficult I would think... good luck.
