Post subject:  Finally met Joe

Joe Stiles was taking a skip to Raleigh and I was finally able to meet him in Asheville. We drank coffee in the parking lot of a Citgo station and talked about the bonding business. Although our meeting was brief, I came away knowing what a true professional is. He is a calm confident man and i found that we share a lot of the same values. Not sure if it's a Southern thing or just coincidence. I could have talked with him for hours but he had a lot of road to cover.

Very impressive the way joe treated the man that had failed to appear. He treated him with respect and dignity. He wasn't trying to play tough guy, just a man doing his job. In fact the skip was actually smiling and spoke to me and my wife. I know his demeanor was a direct reflection on how he was treated.

I hope to see more people in our profession take the low impact route as Joe and others do.

Make no mistake, Joe is no push-over, he was capable of handling any problem that may have arose. Unfortunately i know a few prople that could have apprehended the same guy and had problems from the get go but that says more about them than the skip.

I don't think Joe is going to like this post because I'm bragging on him, but if it will show that being a rough and rowdy cowboy isn't required to get the job done, I'll deal with his thoughts about this post.

Congrats for meeting one of the most humble, serious and dedicated professionals that I know. I would, and have, make an apprehension with him anytime, anyplace. Joe has held prisoners for my daughter and I so we could get some sleep, and relayed fugitives for me, even paid the guys that did the apprehension for me. First class all of the way. Joe has attended one of my classes for the NABEA and I was given the honor of presenting for the TAPBA on several occasions. Joe's greatest accomplishment as regards this industry was his organizing the infamous BEES class, bringing anyone who is anyone in bail education together in one presentation. Those that attended that can explain better than I.

Joe is my brother, friend and mentor.

Enough good things cannot be said about Joe. He is the epitomy of Southern Gemtlemanship and adedicated professional.
I have had both the honour and privilege of working for him on more than 1 occasion.
Gld you had the opportunity to meet him.

Scott,

Put you,Joe and a few others together on here and this profession and it's reputation would be one hell of a force to be reckoned with.

You take a back seat to no one my friend!

Ruffin, I noticed where you recently worked for Joe, hated to hear about the deer and your car. I hope to one day meet you as well.

Well,

We can all meet Joe ( again for some ) in St Louis next month. Along with Bill, Scott, Scott, Phil LuVonda, Tom, Bill, Yak, Luke, Matt, and everyone else that I am just too tired to remember right now as it was a late night last night.

My caseload has increased dramatically over the last few weeks which might prevent my attendance in St Louis. One case could be a door closer if not closed soon.
I've been working triple time in hopes of making the meeting.

Concur with everything here! I met Joe right before last Christmas after returning a fugitve to Knoxville (from SoCal!). We had breakfast and got to chat a bit before we had to hit the road. Time very well spent for this student of the game!!!

Thanks for all the kind words, guys. I'm not really sure I'm deserving of all the compliments. I just got back from Raleigh, NC snd was very fortunate to be able to meet with Bill Williams and his wonderful wife Sandy. Thanks again Bill for taking the time to come out and meet with me. I totally enjoyed it. I hope to see you again soon.
