Some cases are body snatch cases, where the defendant is at his court listed address. Other cases try your patience and put your skill sets to the test. I would like to publicly thank Gene Lacy (DSI) for helping me to close an investigation today. The information that he provided created leads that allowed George Edelen and me to develop further into the defendant's location. The defendant's entire court history listed his mother's address, where he has never lived. Keeping the dog on the rabbit ended his run with minimal struggle. He accepted my handshake while the gears were turning trying to figure out where he knew me from, mistake, big mistake! Networking is the least intrusive way to effect an apprehension, in my humble opinion. Warrants in 3 counties will be allowed to be closed out due to the efforts of the commercial bail system, and that should be our "value added" mantra for this industry. Thanks Gene, I could not have accomplished this with out your assistance and mentorship. Scott |
