Post subject: | Surety Recovery Liability Insurance |
Good morning guys/gals! Ive made a decent go at writing bonds, but with working a full time job, that's been pretty difficult. My wife has better luck at that than I do. However, I have had some good luck and seems, plenty of work doing recoveries. Since this seems to be growing all on it's own I thought it might be worth while to move to the next step and make it a bigger part of the picture. I have done some searching online, and on the forum but had little luck finding a reputable liability insurance company. I have liability insurance for the training we do and have contacted the provider to see if we could expand our policy and that answer was 'no'. I did find a couple of links on the forum for liability insurance, some of them were dead links, and most of the ones that did work, point to insurance companies that offer surety insurance, but not liability insurance. For those of you out there that do recovery work, do you have liability insurance and if so do you have a reference for a reputable insurance company that I could contact? I don't want bad things to happen, but sometimes they do and if it does I would like to know that I have selected a good insurance company. Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks! Jeff |

Ok, Just met a couple of brokers at the PBUS. Call Kimberly Krough @ Fidelity. 509-747-3121. They are out of Spokane. They said they have the best rates and coverage geared towards bail bond operations and fugitive recovery. Personally, they were knowledgable and eager for our business. Check them out and see what they have to offer. Tell them that I referred them to you. Disclaimer: This is not a paid endorsement for their services. I have not received any compensation from them or will not receive any compensation from them for this or any other referral I give. However, you can buy me a drink if you like their service. |

Tony, thank you for the information - as I stated in the PM I removed it from the post - to avoid potential spammers and other possible problems... |

If you wouldve called me if you were in the Miami area you 1) May of missed your flight due to alcohol problems..or 2) Due to addiction of seeing beautiful females wearing Fishing Line as bathing suits.... lol |

Well, I called my Allstate agent, and he put me in touch with a friend of his who handles commercial insurance. I spoke with him for about 30 minutes, and he made some calls. And lo and behold, he found insurance for me through Fidelity. He took all of our agents certification info and backgrounds, and he said they should get back with me in a day or two with a rate for our coverage. Thanks to all for the info. I'm hoping to get this all settled soon; move away from instructing and further into recoveries. |

So how common is it for bail recovery agents to have their own insurance? Also i am just in the processing of becoming a bounty hunter and wanted thoughts on the necessity of insurance for low profile cases as that will be all i will be pursuing for the time being. |

Jeff, The PBUS meeting was over in St Petes Beach. So, it was a bit too far to have had a few in Miami. But, next time I will stay a few extra days and try to meet up with anyone near by. |
