One and All, A few of us have been discussing having a get together in Las Vegas this summer to meet, eat, drink if you wish to, and learn a few things about this business. So, even though it is still coming together, we have the following details for you. Date: June 12, 13, 14th, 2011 Location: Golden Nugget Casino Hotel. Room cost: $39 night plus tax. Event cost: TBD but as low as possible, probably under $100 to cover food and meeting room charges. Invited: Anyone related to bail, bail recovery, private investigations, service or equipment suppliers to the investigation field, surety companies, new comers, old timers, spouses, the media, collections, etc...... Once we have the program set or at least a tentative one, we will inform everyone. For now, if anyone is interested or have any questions or suggestions, please let us know. |

Very interested. I'll tentatively say that myself, probably my wife and maybe even another member or two of my recovery team will be there. |

Same here, put me down for 2 maybe 3. Would love to put faces with the names and it sounds like a great excuse to go to Vegas. Not that you need one. |

OK everyone, This is what I have so far, a bit more than the last update. The Nugget has comfirmed our dates of Sun - Tues, June 12, 13 and 14th. Room rates on $39 plus tax per night. The same rate is good for 2 nights after the 14th. Friday and Saturday before, the rate will be $79 per night. We will get a group code that we will have to use to book the rooms under. Everyone will have to make their own individual room res. The group rate cut off date will be May 20, 2011 at 5:00PM. Any reservations made after that wil be at the going rate. We need minimum of 25 rooms each night Sunday and Monday under our group code. Any rooms booked before or after the cut off date under our group, will still count towards our minimum. By have a group minimum, we do not have to pay for the meeting rooms. Which run close to $1,000 a day. I have contacted the U.S Marshals office in LV to see if they could have someone speak to us about extraditions. Waiting on a call back. I have also spoken to IRBsearch and asked for a speaker to talk about data searches. Finally, I have spoken to someone that provides electronic monitoring GPS equipment to also speak. Waiting on a committments from all 3. So what we need is to develope a flyer to email or post on this and other boards about the event. Costs. This is hard to determine. It all depends on how many people attend and how many joint meals we want to have. I think we can meet the food and beverage minimum amount if we have a cocktail party/reception Sunday night, 6-8PM. (No host bar) Then a buffet lunch on Monday (12 -1:00) and buffet dinner also on Monday (6:00 - 8:00)PM I am guessing that we can still keep it under $100 per person. Again, it will all depend on how many we get to attend. I have sent the Nugget a deposit get finalize the contract. Finally, does anyone have a contact with a general liabilty insurance broker? All hotel require a insurance policy to cover any possible accidents, etc. I know the policies are pretty cheap. I just don't have any contacts with those type of brokers. |

Great Job - Tony! I appreciate all the effort. Looks like it may become an awesome event! I will build a section of the FRN website to have people register. Does anyone have suggestions for other items and/or ideas? |

Phil Open topics that people would like expanded on, this will give speakers time to prepare. I would like to hear from someone in the electronic surveillance community to speak on the latest GPS tracking units and the legality of same. Scott |
