Hello first off let me say that I am so glad I found this forum. I have had a lot of questions and couldn't really find anywhere to get them answered in a timely / friendly fashion. Luckily Google found this place! Anyway, on with the introduction.
I am a female in the Charleston, South Carolina area looking to get started in fugitive recovery. I have always been interested in this type of work I have just never set my mind to actually doing anything about it until now.
So on with my first question:
In South Carolina Bail Bondsmen, Runners, etc. are legal but Bounty Hunters are not, so that brings up the question, what exactly is the difference ?

Nice to meet you, asstinterests!
Simply put....
It means that BEA's from out-of-state cannot enter into SC for the sole purpose of hunting fugitives who have fled there from another state. Of course, the licensed SC bondsman can hunt his/her own skips.

Hello. I am also new to the board. I am not in the business..unfortunetly. It does interest me, and even more so now after seeing the show Dog the Bounty Hunter. I understand from reading here, that most of you are not fans of Duane Chapman. I personally am not a fan of the wife more so than any of them. I am only here to try and learn from some real BEA's, if that is okay.

Welcome...
You have definitely come to the right place if you are serious about learning this trade. By just reading previous posts and using the "search" button, you WILL see a wealth of information.
I am fairly new (myself) and I must say that you probably won't meet a better bunch of people. The BA's, BEA's, and CRA's are all here to help you. All they ask is that you do your homework and research before asking questions. Nine times out of ten, your question has already been asked.

Almost all of us will tell you that if you are a Dog fan, go ask him for advice. Almost all of us DO NOT operate like him and do not want to be compared to him. He has his own web site and chat groups that can help any aspiring Dog fan we will not do that here.

Well, I thought this would be a good board to come and learn some aspects of the business. But I see that I must have made a mistake, because I don't think I'll learn much from any of you if I am jumped for stating that I become INTERESTED after seeing the show. I am sure you have heard that before and obviously DO NOT like it, which is understandable considering how you feel about that man, but I do not think you should judge me because I have watched the show. You obviously have to.
