Rick,
That is one of the downsides to posting contact information on a public forum or a yahoo talk group etc as spammers will go into the members list and make a mass emailing list of said members it is quite commonplace. They also get contacts off of your websites that one uses for their business as since you posted it for public use.

This info also comes from phone service, changing your address, licensing lists from the state and numerous other places. I usually ask the person where they got my name and number and it is usually from one of these. I do get some spam emails using the address I have posted on a couple of these sites, so I know they come from someone scanning the membership lists since it is only used for these.

I'm not upset about it in the least, but i do know it came from this board, because the info he quoted me, was what i have listed here.

it happens.

i'm on the national do not call registry, and got into a verbal arguement
with the person calling me today from the "nsba" nationals small business alliance, when i asked them to take me off (like i've done on numerous occasion) they said that the NDNCR does not affect them or regulate them therefore they can call me as much as they want..

they disturb my daily business by calling me at least three times or more a day. i dont know whet else to do.

Be very nice to them, collect as much information about them as you can and then file a complaint against them with the FTC and your attorney Generals Office.

I'm pleased to know all of you are so diplomatic when speaking to the spammers on the telephone. As for myself... well, I long ago covered myself with a cloak of immunity from the social niceties and say exactly what I feel on any subject.

Regarding the 'do not call' list... the absolute best way I've found to be on everyone's do-not-call list is to tell them you've traced their family tree back to Cro-Magnum man. Then I suggest they get counseling because all the in-breeding in their family has prevented them from getting a real job.

Next thing I hear is >click< when they hang up the phone.

This approach has never failed.

I still like the post I put in the "lighter side". You should try that, Rick, and see how they respond  .
