Post subject: | Question for Kansas |
I'm working a case that comes to me in California by way of Dodge City, KS. Can anyone tell me what the appearance period is on a bond in Kansas? In case the term is Cali-only....I mean how long from from forfeiture to judgement. In California it is six months. |

Tom I read the KS statutes and I am unclear. It appears to be 10 days from notice of forfeiture. Scott |

10 Days. But court can grant extension at its own descrection. Also its courts descrection the time from SJ to when it must be paid. The surety should file motion to ask for a set amount of time, like 3 months or longer if needed. |

10 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good grief.... It would take me 2 weeks to find my checkbook!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had a forfieture this morning for $3500.... Virginia has 150 days and then 2 years if paid if the perp is picked up... you get a refund. I know where this idiot is and so now... I will put on my tactical sandals... my depends and my water pistol with Clorox in it.... don't laugh... that works better than pepper spray (just wash out the water gun after you use it cause the Clorox will eat up the rubber washers inside the gun--- now hows that for some real handy information, but be ready for a lawsuit... ) .... really... one quick shot between the eyes.... Point the water pistol at the perp and while he is laughing, pop him in the face one time and he will drop like a rock... A brightly colored water pistol works even better.... lime green or red is best so they know it is a water pistol..... hee, hee... (easier on the perp than a .357) anyway, I am going to Carolina tomorrow to get this idiot... ............ again........ 10 days......... damn!!!!! I'm goin' outside and wash my two dogs now....... if I can catch em ....... later................... |

Don't know if Kansas has a remission period. If they do, it may be up to the judge to set how much time the bail agent has to get the FTA back to get any money back. The bail agent should have this info. |

Allegedly we have the right to "renumeration" here . . . but according to the (old - now deceased) Prosecutor . . . once payment of Judgement had been rendered to the Court . . . it was not a happening kinda thing. I can find no case law where it had been adjudicated otherwise. If I have missed it and there is someone else from AR that has the info . . .I would definitely like a copy |
