Good Evening Ladies and Gents,

From what I have read it appears that Pennsylvania's take on being a fugitive recovery agent is about as lax as their gun laws. It appears that there is no actual statute that states that you have to go through extensive training to become an agent. Please correct me if I am wrong as I am still a little wet behind the ears on this subject. I would rather get my info from the experienced agents as opposed to the internet where there is always the possibility of false information. Also if there is a specific place on this site, please link me so I can read it. I am still new and unfamiliar with this site.

With that being said, I am in extreme NE PA. I am talking I look out my window and see NY and a couple miles drive I am in NJ. I have access to all 3 states very easily. I am sure NY is close to California as far as laws go on this subject and NJ is one that I am unsure of. I considered NJ State police but it appears you have to be a resident and I have no want to live in NJ right now (or NY) because of the taxes and other associated costs of living are just way to high.

I would like to work for an already established agency to get my feet wet and have a mentor in this business. This is not something that you just "jump into" without any prior knowledge. I think my military training and my 2 deployments (13 months each) to Iraq in support of Iraqi Freedom are a great asset. I did the normal Marine rifleman stuff in addition to my actual MOS which was in communications. Needless to say I understand all the high tech electronic stuff.

Now that I rambled on and on, can someone give me a hand and point me in the right direction? Thanks.

Nate,

I would call John Marshall or send a email to him with your questions. He's listed in the PA directory.
